Unhappy My Gramma

Today, I'm going to bury my grandmother. My dad passed in January and this weekend it was my grandmother. My mom is on the 'way out' and not expected to make it through Christmas.

Getting older is the pits.

Unhappy Bummer

That is not the cool of course. Sorry to hear.
I lost my father when I was 6 so that left a lot of room for adapting. Traumatized me somehow, and I never knew my grand parents so I guess I'm lucky in the sense of not knowing the loss of more family. I loss my dad's only brother when I was about 14. Nearly lost an aunt a few months ago on my mom's side and I lost it just feeling that. Just keep that head up.

Many Condolences...

My grandpa passed on Jan. 29 & it has affected my outlook on death in a big way, so yeah I know the feeling. Just remember you'll get through it & they're in a much better place!

Thanks guys. That helps. Now that I've lost my Grammy, I have no grandparents left. They're all gone now. When my Mom goes, I will have no parents left and no real family -- except my girl and her new family. (My great-granny always said, "If you learn something new every day, you'll live to be 100." She made it to 98, which is "close enough for government work." So, this is what I've learned today: "When your whole family starts dying off on you, it's time to start a new one..." So, my girl has done the right thing).

And yeah, Ms. M, it does make you rethink a lot. (I'm thinking about starting a family tree. I was never big on those before, but I think that's needful right now). And talking to people about how you feel. Again, thanks guys.

Sorry to hear about your grandma, hun. And your mom too. Getting older does suck, but it sounds like you've built your own bridges - the need for that blows, but it's also one of the best things in life.

I hope your mom goes peacefully when the time come, and your girl takes care of you.
