Generation X baby bat, is this possible?

Being a 70s kid you think I'd be a Traditional Goth by now, but I'm a late starter.
I've always been attracted to the darker asthetic, the way the ladies look is amazing, myself I dress more military with buckles and d rings, but it's a new thing I had to accept this side to me which is as hard as being gay.
You try to ignore the feeling but you always get seduced by it.
My music 🎵🎶 tastes are Siouxsie, And Ant, Sisters of Mercy, Rammstein and Darkwave, I also like New Wave, Post punk and New Romantic music.
I think the thing is, is it a midlife crisis or a new path with the bonus of accepting all sides of me?
Anyone else had that?

I don't think its a mid life crisis. Alot of people reinvent themselves multiple times throughout their lives. It's a good part of being human.

I can relate to what you’re saying—it doesn’t sound like a midlife crisis at all, more like you’re finally letting yourself explore and embrace the aesthetic and music that’s always resonated with you. A lot of people come to Goth (or any subculture) later in life, and honestly, it tends to be more meaningful because it’s a conscious choice rather than just going along with what’s trendy. Your mix of military/goth fashion and the bands you love already fit naturally into the broader scene, and it’s great you’re recognizing that side of yourself now instead of continuing to suppress it. I think of it as a new path with the bonus you mentioned—being open to all sides of yourself, which is something a lot of us don’t give ourselves permission to do until later in life. You’re not alone; plenty of us here at brickworks atlanta have had those same realizations.
