How Do You Choose the Right Plant for a Particular Room?

I've started realizing that buying a plant just because it looks good isn't always the best strategy. Do you choose plants mainly according to available light, humidity, temperature, or the amount of care you're willing to give them? The collection itself separates plants by factors such as light and water requirements, which seems like a useful way to approach it.

Jumping in on this older post because your approach makes a lot of sense. I’ve started grouping my plants by light needs using simple tags, and it’s saved a few from getting scorched. What do you use to track watering schedules or humidity levels?

You're absolutely right about focusing on light and care needs. I've found that choosing from a curated collection like Indoor plants makes it much easier to match species to my home's conditions. Their detailed care guides and filters for low light or easy care have helped me avoid the usual guesswork.
