Cool, If just for the "creep-factor"
Someone pointed me to this earlier tonight, and I thought I'd share the creepiness.
It's a recording of an exorcism in a Russian Orthodox church. The "possessed" is supposedly a 16 y/o girl.
Now, I have no idea if it's authentic, or not. I tend to take the side of the skeptic generally. But even if it isn't authentic, it's still pretty creepy (especially at 3:30 in the morning with headphones on) :P
The chanting in the background, the gutteral sounds coming from the "girl", the screaming, and the ameturish recording all add to the creepy-factor, so even if it isn't real, it's pretty damn disturbing, and *ahem* good "mood music" for a later scene in my WIP.
It requires Windows Media Player, and if you're easily freaked out by this kind of thing, I wouldn't advise listening. Normally, I'm not easily freaked with this stuff, but I'll admit I glanced over my shoulders a couple of times.
But then, my favorite rides were always the spook-houses at the carnivals.
EDIT: D'OH! Might help if I actually added the links, huh?
The "article"
The recording

Yeah. I don't freak that easy at this stuff, but I had to put some considerably less creepy sounds in my head after that. So I fired up the iTunes, and selected a bunch of Alice Cooper.

Wow.. I'm too scared to listen to the recording, but the article was interesting. I've actually been to an Eastern Orthodox church with my best friend and her family... so help me, I liked it (it wasn't an actual sunday service, it was just a thing called "Vespers" or something). That waslly random, but I appreciate the information. yeesh 0.0 creepy

I wish they would've gotten it on video!Might've been creepier.
The recording by itself is pretty creepy, but I'd rather see the girl's face cuz I can't exactly tell what's going on.Alot of screaming and chanting, but I need video damnit!

Yeah, it is creepy, even if I have my doubts about its reliability, though just in case better put on some 'happy' music (Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy - Queen)

Yeah, this is kinda creepy. I think Disfunction sent this to me a few weeks back, so it's been around (such a slutty audio recording...), and I wouldn't bet my life on the reliability. Real or not, if you use your imagination, it's kinda cool.

Must say out of the two, that wins hands down (though don't anyone take that as a challenge, I'd like to think that was the creepiest thing I've seen today)

I love this thread! When I was 14, I watched The Exorcist alone in the house with all the lights off and it scared the heck out of me. Now, it's mood music...

I really didn't find that creepy. If there was a video along with it then I may have been spooked.

I have "Tubualr Bells" on vinyl, and I love it! It's basically the soundtrack to the exorcist... just music, not possesed screaming.

Wow, that was really cool! I love things dealing with exorcism and demonic possession, especially since I was raised Catholic when I was little. I agree with creepylittleshit, a video woulda been cool. I've read the book which The Exorcist was based on, but I forgot the name. Everyone on this thread oughta check it out, if they can find out the title.

"Tubular Bells" is a really neat song. I used to have it on this cd of new-age type music called Pure Moods. I also really liked "Adiemus" too. I got to do that song in choir in high school for a concert!

I had pure moods, too! That was an awesome tape (I didn't have a cd player back when I owned that.)
