Graffiti In Your Town
To clear up any misconceptions, graffiti is not a gang-related culture--gangs have their own writing, usually not very artistic; that being said, there are such things as 'crews', the purpose of which are support, education, and the development of letterforms and whatnot. That, and fame. Generally these crews are put together solely for graffiti, not other crimes.
Yes, I know that many people consider it vandalism, but there are strict unwritten rules and a code of ethics within the underground culture. I fully support graffiti artists and "getting up"... and I admit to having graff'd up some things, and I'm an addict now. Writing on moving trains is amazing.
In any case, graffiti is often times invisible, meaning to be found only when looked for. It can be found under any of the bridges you ignore, that run over creeks and streams, or under train bridges. And of course, it can always be found on freights. The purpose of this post is to discuss graffiti and post any pictures of local work. If anyone else here supports, or contributes, to the culture, this post is for you.
That being said, I don't have a camera.
