One way to learn how to walk in platform shoes/heels/boots
You get a quarter and stick it between your ass cheeks then squeeze them together, pull your shoulders back and stand straight.
I saw this on T.V.

That is seriously fucked up.
The best way to learn is to walk in them daily, at work, around your house. Walking in platforms isn't that hard.

They take a bit of getting used to, like heels. Once you are comfortable walking in them it's no different than wearing normal shoes. I hate that tired "they're so high, you'll twist your ankle". I've tripped in heels a few times and never broken anything.

I can easily twist my ankel, I tripped and fell on a bike and twisted both of my ankles. I bought some demonias and I did know they run small so I had to return them and my dad would not let me get another pair (but I bought theses cute NANA boots with an ok heel).

How long do demonia boots last? The platforms did look a bit cheap.

Demonias are shitty. My ex went through a couple pairs in as many years until she spent the extra money on a decent pair of boots.

Yeah, I took them to a shoe tailor and he said the same thing to, the bottem can not be cut off because then the whole boot would be ruined.

I love the quarter thing though, not because I think it's imaginative, but because I'm going to tell that to anyone who brings the subject of walking in heels up.

Or just don't wear 'em. Problem solved.
Someone had to say it.

Yeah, I was gonna mention that those are only to be worn when necessary. Like finding out you got squeezed into Wave Gothik Treffen at the last minute or something.

Damn, now I feel like I must have an abnormally large ass, because if I stuck a quarter in between my asscheeks I feel like it would just stay there on its own...

I love platforms... I get to be normal height when I wear them. I don't have a problem with the height.. I do have one pair that is shaped a little weird in the front... so sometimes I forget that they're funky and kinda rock forward a little too far and end up on my face... usually doesn't happen unless I've had a few...

I'm used to wearing platforms now, so when I don't wear them, I feel short. :< [I know I'm not for a girl; 5' 6" without shoes on.]
I tried these for a while, but after tripping and falling off of a step [and scraping my knee pretty badly], I'm now wearing these.
I just don't have very good balance or dexterity, so flat platforms work out better for me. ^_^ For boots, though, I prefer my Docs.

You make that sound like it's a bad thing! I would kill to be able to go to WGT.
Fruitbat, I have a pair of silver New Rock Bat Reactors(2"platform, flat but they still took some time to get used to) and a pair of these. I have 3 pairs of Docs and a pair of Winklepickers, as well.

I really like these shoes, but wondered about the logistics of walking in them with the flared soles.
Hearts - I couldn't find a photo of the bat reactors, but the New Rock Reactors look pretty darn cool.
PJ - maybe you just have really firm butt cheeks no need for hitting the gym.

NO that's definitely not it. I have a flabby ass. Maybe I'm just really uptight all the time.

Just stick your butt out and squeeze the cheeks, do some squats in the morning and maybe that will work.

LOL - sounds like my behind. I know at least I'll survive the next ice age (with all the extra padding).
Maybe my flabby ass means I'll never be able to wear platforms?

Platforms give me no trouble. But if we DID have problems, we'd have a cushion for when we fell.
