Exclamation creepy shit dude...creepy shit.

Ok, I had no idea where to put this so if I put it in the wrong place, forgive me.

What is the creepyest thing any of you have ever experienced?
Tonight on the way home, I was riding through alabama and it was thundering, I was also on one of those old back roads with no street lights. So anyway, they have cougars in the forrest out there...when they do their call it sounds VERRY similar to a baby crying.
So imagine yourself driving at midnight with your windows down, it's thundering but not raining, and out of nowhere you hear babies crying....

creepy, verry verry creepy.

Well I'de like to hear some of yall's stories...
Please tell.

The creepiest thing that happened to me was when I was returning home at about 2 am and some guy walking ahead of me kept looking back at me with wide, paniking eyes and walking faster and faster until he frantically ran away.

So that was freaky...for him. Hillarious for me. I think I'll always wear my cillinder hat when walking home late at night. That will keep me safe as hell.

I assisted in a Catholic exorcisim years ago.

That "Emily Rose" film came fairly close, but firsthand is something else.

And it's nothing I'd ever agree to be exposed to again.

THAT is the most horrible feeling Child.

You would not know if he meant to scare you or truly kill you untill it was too late to do anything about it, and you were stuck in the middle of the mess.

I'm glad to see you are okay!

Have ya'll ever heard "Hotel California" by The Eagles? Most people have, at least here in the states. Anyways, it's about a mental hospital, and I happen to live in the same town where that building is located. It's no longer a hospital, it's been turned into a state university, but it still has the heavy doors, chicken wire in the windows, little things like that. My mom was going there to get her BA at the time so I'd been on campus so many times that I didn't think it could ever really bother me because it was so familiar. But one day, I had to go to class with her because I didn't have school and for some reason I couldn't stay home alone that day. I left the classroom to go find the restroom, and I was in kind of a remote corridor so I didn't really see any students walking around like I normally would. Something about the way my footsteps echoed in the hallway triggered a switch in my head and I just heard this scream, and the hall kind of flashed in an out of focus, like in a horror film where someone concentrates on something and there are a few split-seconds here and there where the picture changes and suddenly there's this loud noise, but it's gone almost before you notice it. I've always been hyper-sensitive to the emotions of people around me, and it doesn't bother me unless I'm in an overly crowded space for at least half an hour, but this was the only time where I honestly had a hard time concentrating on what were my own feelings and what weren't. Then the scream cut off and my eyesight focused again and it was the strangest thing.

I'm familiar with that song, but never knew it was detailing such a real place.

I'm on the fence in the issue of ghosts as commonly thought of, but I do feel events and people in extreme situations of violence, horror or despair, can leave a metaphysical "fingerprint" or echo of the event and that this passes for a "ghostly encounter" quite often.

It sounds like you encountered one of those.

My scariest moment was probably when I fell off a rock I was climbing. You see, I used to do mountain climbing, but without all those security things; it's one of those sports here in Norway that is reserved for the "crazy people". :P Anyway, I'm rather good at climbing, and this rock was supposed to be safe. Note the "supposed". As I had almost reached the top, suddenly the stone most of my weight was resting on gave way and tumbled down the cliff, about 3,5 metres down. It's a wonder I didn't hurt anything but my ankle... And I know it's crazy, but every time I see any climbable rocks, I feel an urge to do so... it's the adrenaline kick, I guess.

Yeah, it makes the song sorta creepy once you think about the fact that it's totally real.

That reminds me of this one dude who got shot a few years back. he had a mental illness, I don't remember what it was exactly, but he was about 40 when this happen, and was living with father, who took care of him. He got high on meth, and the cops attempted to pull him over for speeding, but with the drugs combined with his disability wasn't such a great thing and he sped up, ducking into his neighborhood, which is also mine, and I remember going out into my front yard for whatever reason and suddenly seeing his car zip around the corner at warp speed. I was like "what??" and then the cops followed and I was like "holy crap, not good." He made it inside his house before they caught up with him, and before they could force him out, he actually ran out with a knife and stabbed one of the officers in the arm. Amazingly, they didn't manage to grab him that time either. So he's inside the house, about a block away from me, the people living in the immediate area are being evacuated, and everyone else is being advised to lock all doors and windows. Hours later, he's still locked insdie and the police were afraid he might harm his father if they tried to force him out or break in, so they wait, and wait, and finally make a plan to go around the back of the house and try and get to him that way. He beats them to the door though, he's got the knife still, and they had to shoot him in order to stop him. It was scary. It's not every day that one of your neighbors is shot to death by the police.

Mine happened a few months ago. It's a very long story so I'll have to vastly summarize it.

One day, I was in the backyard, walking around aimlessly [I do that often].. and I felt something odd. I began looking around and eventually saw a tall-ish shadow appear next to mine. No possible causes that I could find. Later, 3 other shadows would appear next to it, then they'd dissappear and so on. Being somewhat used to feeling/seeing peculiar things I went back inside, into the livingroom.

I began to see a face on the wall. Very faint but I could make out eyes and a mouth. The air felt electric. It's mouth would often move and occasionally I'd hear it-- but it was too quiet and low to hear and it didn't quite make sense, anyway.. In the reflection of the [turned off] tv I would also see 1 or 2 vague shadowy figures on either side of me, touching me [though I couldn't feel it physically, per se]. My mom was there and couldn't hear anything but she noted that my hair went completely static, sticking up and everything though hers was not.

So, I'd feel the presence of this "Face" thing everywhere I went and it began to become very unsettling. Just this really horrible feeling at the pit of my stomach. I'll stop here, though.

Another time, I was at school in the computer lab and I saw something similar on the walls, in the screens etc. At one point I distinctly heard and felt something whisper "Hey!" into my right ear. In the [again, turned off] computer screen reflections I'd see a group of shadowy people behind me, just standing there. A little girl with blonde hair in a blue dress was sitting in the doorway. Yet another, smaller [and taller and darker] group standing elsewhere. And with my eyes alone I was able to make out, again, very faint, tall shadows moving across the room. The face would show up randomly.

But after I quit my medication [Wellbutrin], it all stopped. So one might say it was just hallucinations, but I'm not entirely sure, considering the fact that my hair would go all static at those times and others would see. I've not seen anything else since then aside from the random glimpse from the corner of my eye.

Wellbutrin, you say? Interesting. I'm on that stuff myself and have had similar experiences both ona nd off of the medication. Speaking of which that Sonata sleeping pill stuff? Oh my God... my doctor put me n that for a while and I had the most insane hallucinations. Everything was moving and spinning and I was wide awake I couldn't sleep, and I'd look down, see my own arm, and it wouldn't register right away that it was my arm and I spazzed out. It was horrible.

ok...we have this mental hospital here, but the government is closing bits of it down...So the low-level and high-level sections are being released. alot of the people that lived there have nowhere to go. They wonder around the suburbs around the old hospital. We used to live near there.

one day, my best mate and i decided we'd walk back to her house and skip college...
on the radio they were warning people about some guy they let out, and he'd escaped from the local safe-house...us, not being at college didnt hear about it...a couple of hours later we're sitting in her kitchen and we hear a noise in the back yard. so we look out and there's a dude sitting, pulling his hair out, one by one and sticking them on the side of the garden shed. we freaked out and hid away. Her mom came home and called the cops...

it was so fucked up. i keep a brick in my backpack, and it goes everywhere with me...its help me out of some sticky spots...but its sad that its not even safe to walk to band practice 3 blocks away without having to defend yourself...

That is why I've trained so hard I've become a martial arts instructor. Wee bit more convenient than a brick in the backbag, I tell you that

I had one hallucination-like experience, but it was not creepy. You see, since I'm into martial arts, I'm also into the cultures and philosophies behind them, so I tend to meditate every day. Or night. This one, particular night, I suddenly felt a gentle breeze running through the room, and I smelt a faint scent of a lotus incense. Shortly after I 'felt' someone approaching me, sitting down beside me and touching me gently by my shoulder, until practically speaking cuddling me. It felt... nice.

But I never got why people are afraid of them, unless the person happens to be weidling a weapon. Even than, I personally wouldn't be afraid, but that's just cause I'm an oddball, and I don't fear death at all. I'm not wishing for it, but I don't fear it. You hear on the news about people being so shaken up because they got robbed, and the robber threatened to kill them if they didn't hand over whatever it was that he/she wanted. Sure, it's gonna scare you to have smeone randomly pop out of nowhere and scream that they'll kill you, but if in that situation myself I'd more likely respond by attacking the guy with all I've got. He/she is just gonna kill me either way, right? That's what they said in any case. So whether I resist or just stand there while my money and/or possessions are stolen from me, I'm dead either way, I might as well go down fighting, right?

I can imagine it and I would definately find it strange but I wouldn't be frightened, per se. But I'm odd. I've also been to that point where you nearly lose your mind as well, and maybe that's what changed things for me, seeing that it could happen to anyone, and just because I was on the brink of complete mental shut-down didn't mean I was going to go on a homicidal rampage, so everyone else needed to be given the benefit of the doubt as well. I duno, once death doesn't scare you one bit, other things stop scaring you as well, because a lot of fears lead to the fear of death. Some people fear the insane because they're afriad that they will get killed by them for no reason. Some people fear the dark because you don't know who could pop out, and not knowing that means someone could walk up to you, stab you, and you wouldn't notice until it was too late. But I'm no psychologist and I'm not going to pretend that I am.

My step grandfather was very ill with cancer and he was on his deathbed, about ready to die. My brother and I had to go to my mother's. Well I woke up during the night and it was 1:19, the very same time he died. I was told what time he died the next day. I did the same thing when my grandmother died. I started shaking and balling. It happened right when she died. It's pretty creepy.

Wow...thats crazy...I was walking through my house once when I was about 5 or 6 and I remember this like it was yesterday...

So it was about 3:00 or 3:30 in the morning...I got up to get a drink and our piano in the living room started playing itself...not like pretty playing...it sounded as if someone was banging away at it like crazy...I passed out for some reason and woke up the next morning...twas weird
