Taxation without representation
Okay so in the state i live in you can get a job a 14, and the government takes tax out of your check. But i cant vote till im 18 so why should i pay taxes? Taxation without representation was one of the reasons we fought england. I think the voteing age should be lowered considering i pay taxesand i know what laws i want and dont want. I think its all a bunch of bull sh*t.

You are most likely paying taxes so that your parents benefit at the end of the year: if you claim exempt status on your taxes, to claim yourself, then your parents cannot claim you as a dependent. You may save $150 in taxes during the year, but your parents miss out on $2,500 worth of exemptions! So eat the couple hundred dollars in taxes and let your parents reap the benefit, as the money they save will be spent on you in the end anyway.
That was the deal my kids and I worked out anyway. But you are right in that you are not being one hundred percent represented. You are being represented by parental proxy.

Kid, you're complaining about a government that is restricting the freedom of private enterprises by commanding them how huch they have to pay you.
Your job could pay you a buck per day if it were not for the government, and you're complaining that they tax you??

I dont mind paying taxes im just saying i should be able to vote.My parents dont have the same views as me on all politics.

They could always increase the minimum age necessary to hold a job. It would be idiotic to lower the voting age-- for one, the Democrats would always win...
