the Best of DeathRock
Okay, it's come down to this. This thread is where the best deathrock band of all time is decided. Will it be the poetic genius of Christian Death, the classic sound of Ausgang, or the new evolution of Cinema Strange? You decide.
Deathrock, loosely defined, is a combination of punk and gothic rock. Don't get it confused with psychobilly like the Misfits or the Cramps though. Psychobilly's a combination or early rock/surf rock and punk rock.
This thread is also a great place for people new to the gothic or deathrock music scenes to get familiar with some great bands.

Specimen!
No question about it.
Think of it: If it were not for Specimen's vocalist, Ollie Wisdom, there would have not been any Batcave. If there were no Batcave, where would the cradle of the gothic subculture had been? Hard Rock Café? I don't think so!
Now you all who might differ with me go listen to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and shut up!

Where, oh where, are the Virgin Prunes in all this?
They get my vote anyway, just for being who they are.

If it comes to Rozz Williams, I prefer Shadow Project than Christian Death.

I've not been listening to Shadow Project long enough to compare them to CD, but they're sounding reeeeal good so far. Sorry I couldn't put more choices in the poll; it only allows ten.

Really like Rozz, but I had to go with Specimen. They just really lighten my mood when I feel like busting dishes and the like.

Anyway, my answer would be Christian Death.

Rozz was indeed an amazing man. A few minutes ago, I was listening to "Catastrophe Ballet" and a flutter came to my heart. Rozz is such a unique, beautiful vocalist and lyricist.
