Hello.
After the little mishap with the validation emails, I've finally been able to validate my account; so here I am.
Anyways, my name is Richard, and I'm twelve years old from the West Midlands, England. Before you suddenly jump to conclusions that my age will make me immature or an idiot, I try as hard as possible to show that I'm different from most of the idiots that are my age.
I despise bad grammar and bastardization of the English language, so if you're going to reply with anything along the lines of "omgz welcum to gnet lolz", I demand that you bugger off.
I make perverted jokes often, so you'll want to watch out for the penis gags whenever I see an opening. Get it? Opening? ... Forget it.
Anyways, yeah, hello.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
Obviously at 12 I'm unemployed, but would love a job. For hobbies, I like computer games, reading, hanging out with mates, listening to music. Rather boring hobbies, but I simply find most other stuff to be uninteresting. I was into basketball for a while, but quit. Was quite good at it actually.
2. Where are you from?
Dudley, West Midlands.
3. Who is your favorite author?
For fantasy novels, James Barclay, Dawnthief was great. George Orwell's '1984' is brilliant, and I'm a fan of Richard Dawkins theories on evolution as opposition to the Creationism arguments.
4. What are your favorite films?
This is a tough one, there aren't really many films that stand out to me as favourites. I watch a lot of good films, so to pick one would be hard. However, Borat is one of the only films that makes me laugh out loud, and it made me do this to the point of my chest hurting, so, probably Borat.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Seven by Necrophagist would be awesome.
6. At your funeral?
My tastes are going to change over the years (probably) so it's too soon for me to say anything about the music at my funeral, nor do I really want to dwell on my funeral.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Peacefully, or dying at the ripe old age of 764 saving a laboratory full of chemical injected time-travelling orangutans and thus saving the world.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
... A wooden one? I'm not sure, black, maybe a pentagram or an upside down cross on there.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
Any one of my numerous band shirts, my black jeans and my boots.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Nothing, I was an idiot.
11. What's your favorite band?
I have way too many.
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Secondary school; Drama would be a nice thing to take for GCSE, then I'd keep it at College and also take Film Studies.
13. Why did you join?
I searched for Gothic Literature (it's a thing we're doing for our English lessons and I wanted the upper hand over the rest of the class; but I also have been meaning to read some gothic literature for quite some time).
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Male.

o_O My God, look at that grammatical structure. You are now my favorite twelve year old. Welcome to gnet. But won't you share at least one of favorite bands? People have spilled tens of lines before you to list them all.

I suggest you list some bands you like, regardless.
But aside from already knowing that your music will not be accepted here (hinted at by the avatar, the coffin, and that you like Necrophagist), I still like you. You have a tight grasp on the English language, something we VERY much promote here.
I am also one to make penis jokes. Actually, I said something about bottling sperm in a vial in another one of the posts. . .
Welcum 2 gnet, lulz!

Carpathian Forest
Celtic Frost
Children of Bodom (old)
Cradle of Filth (old)
Cryptopsy
Dark Funeral
Death
Enthroned
Grotesque
Immortal
Insomnium
Kampfar (An awesome mix of Folk and Black Metal reminiscent of Korpiklaani)

Wolf Cry
Progressive Metal/Rock
Andromeda
Allen - Lande (A collaboration of Russel Allen, Symphony X vocalist and Jorn Lande, vocalist of Jorn)

Metallica(old)
Slayer(old)
Viking Metal (similar to Black Metal)
Enslaved
I guess I got a little carried away. Well, you asked, so there you go.
P.S. I suppose you could label me as a LaVeyan Satanist, since through thorough examination of LaVeyan Satanism, it is pretty much almost identical to Atheism in terms of beliefs, the only difference is that it has a handbook and a couple of high priests and so forth, and a founder. So, by being Atheist, I suppose you could say that I am a LaVeyan Satanist. But I'm certainly not a supporter of the Misanthropic Luciferian Order Satanism.

That's a rather impressive list. I like Lacuna Coil, but was unsure what category they fall under. I didn't want to get flamed for putting them under Gothic Metal.
I've listened to Apocalyptica before, I am right in thinking they are the band that use Cello's, correct?
Their music is okay, but I always think that it is lacking something, and while entertaining, all that's left is music that's flawed. It's a nice gimmick though.

. . . I don't care if you're twelve. I am kidnapping you.
This kid knows what the hell he's talking about. May I keep him, mommy?
P.S. I list Apocalyptica as metal because they cover Metallica songs, even though they're not REALLY metal.

What are you, 5 feet tall now? At 12 you should be rather short. And, if you're fat now, then once you hit your growth spurt you will distribute the weight evenly.

A Dawkins fan? Be my friend.
Only gripe: atheism has no beliefs. It's just a term used to identify an absence of belief.

To disbelieve in God is to believe that he does not exist.
Actually SOP, when I was 11, my music tastes also sucked. But; I didn't really like Eminem or 50 Cent or anything that I listened to, really, I just wanted to fit in.
Over the last year; I can't believe how far I've come in terms of self-confidence and maturity. To be honest, I couldn't care less if people disagree with my music tastes now; but back when I was low on self-confidence, I was just desperate to be accepted.

I couldn't disagree with this statement more. "LaVeyan Satanism" is in no way identical to Atheism. In terms of your beliefs? Can you explain that?
According to LaVey's "Nice Satanic Statements," I take serious issue with saying that it's identical to Atheism, especially with Numbers 5 and 8. Just because one doesn't believe in a god or gods doesn't mean that one is some vengeful jacka$$. Furthermore, not believing in a "higher being" also doesn't mean that Atheists take religion's so-called sins and revel in them. These "sins" don't mean anything, not in, say, a Christian sense, nor in a Satanic sense, in that they "lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification." That's just as big a crock.
Give me a break. You might be able to structure a sentence better than most 12 year olds, but this kind of thinking (not to mention your "paper-writing" techniques as demonstrated in the Lit forum) is very much 12 year old thinking. Good luck with that.

Mm-hmm. LaVeyan Satanists don't revel in sin, for a start. If you looked at any of the other statements, such as the ones in the Eleven Satanic Statements you would clearly see things such as not harming children, do not steal, don't force yourself sexually upon somebody, do unto others as others do unto you and so forth.
Since the statements contradict each other; you can't say that either are correct, and since the eleven satanic statements show that they don't revel in sin, to say that they do is only a matter of personal opinion.
It depends on which statements you decide to follow.
And also, just because it says that you must do something, it doesn't immediately follow that people do. The Crusades are a perfect example, you're not supposed to kill, but they did.
Just like you may be supposed to revel in sin, but you don't. So, you can revert to following the basic principles, and the main principle is that LaVeyan Satanism is atheistic.
And as for your comments on my paper writing, I had half an hour to do an essay I didn't completely understand, and how on earth my paper writing correlates with my theories on Satanism I have no clue.

Well, you won't much literature on this site anymore. That section hasn't been updated in well over a year...
What kind of thing is it you are doing for your English lessons? Have you been given a definition of "gothic" literature and have to find a suitable piece and dicuss what is "gothic" about it? Or is it a project where you go and figure out what the features of "gothic" literature are?
I'm curious...
