Question bikes with trenchcoats

trenchcaots are officially brilliant, but it can get in the way a bit.
i used to like riding bikes and want to do it again, but i haven't ridden a bike since i got a trench coat and i cant ride it without the coat getting in the wheels, ive tried doing a "the crow: city of angels last scene" but i just can't. does anyone know how to ride a bike with your trench coat? (without tucking it in your trousers)

I have no idea how this is going to help you...but I will tell you it's possible because my ex use to do it all the time.
I guess you wouldn't be able to pedal if you closed it, and if you opened it it will get caught in the pedals, or the wheel behind.
Honestly, it's been on my mind for a while too.
Hopefully we find someone who can answer this question.

I think you'd need to lift it up til you were going fast enough for the wind to keep it up over the back wheel...

Seriously, how funny would that look?
I'd be laughing the whole time if I saw someone do that.
What would you do when you stop?

You get an actual trenchcoat. You know, with the part in the back?

Or you close it, and unbutton the bottom button so you can pedal.

You can basically make a bustle for it with snaps, buttons or rings.

Around your belted area, place section one of buttin/button hole, snap, or ring/links.

halfway between waist and end of the trench place the second parts. Leave down for walkin gans "bustle up" for biking. You can use "bondage rings" for a more gothy/industrial/whathaveyou look.

Well that's your fault.

By the way, is it a long-coat [single breasted] or an actual trench coat [double breasted]? The longcoats look dumb closed.
The longcoats pretty much just plain look dumb, ad they make you look like a trapezoid.

EDIT:
I like your bondage ring idea, Mollymac.
