It's called If I Was Your Vampire.
What do you all think?
I think it sounds better than anything from the Golden Age of Grotesque... except for maybe Spade and PAranoir. >.>

I haven't listened to Manson and his shock rock in a long long long time. But I've heard good things about this song.
His picture depicts him looking kinda bored though.

Yeah, he isn't really "shock rock" any more, that kinda ended around Antichrist Superstar I think... his music has become a lot more.. um... romanticized? Except for Golden Age of Grotesque... which was to poppy for my liking.

Heh, I'm a huge Manson fan, I even have almost every Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids song from the tapes they only put a few of out in like, the late 80's and early 90's... they have changed so much since then.
Speaking of new albums and such, I was thinking of starting a Year Zero thread for NIN... that album was so disappointing.

Not a Manson fan in any sense, but I find this song to be extremely interesting. I kind of like it, in fact. More than anything, I like the way his voice sounds on this track.

Uh, Jarl, don't mind Kontan, he's still exploring sexuality-right now he's on the bridge of homosexuality and bisexuality so...he doesn't want to get to close...  all in jokes, Kontan.
I've never really been a fan of Manson, mainly because I feel he's mocked the goth asesthic and look by commercializing it, thus pop goth musique. Though I do overall have on and off feelings of him; I love the dark artistic elements in his work.
The beginning of the song kind of reminds me of the film 'Begotten'.

The music video for Coma Black was all from the movie Begotten.
And I agree with what you said about manson and the goth aesthetic to some degree... mainly when it comes to the Golden Age of Grotesque and Holywood. Most of the stuff before that was great. I still like a lot of Holywood, but yeah. He has a lot of great songs and soem crap songs, as with every artist.

I prefer this song to everything he's ever made before. I'm not a big fan of his music, although I do have some of his music on my mp3 player from time to time. I might give the album a spin at the local record shop when it's released, just to know how it sounds.

Well, I'm more of a darkwave/ shoegaze/ rockabilly fan than metal based; the "heaviest" songs I've got on my laptop currently must be Christian Death and Subway to Sally.

Goth bands cover all kinds of songs, and why not Monster Mash?
They (as in gothic rock bands) have already covered Johnny Cash, the Beatles, T-Rex, Rolling Stones, etc....

Got to say that HIM is far from goth, mainly because it sounds nothing like goth musique, the influences they have cited are far from goth, only pre-goth metal stuff like Black Sabbath...But I have to say I'm lured into some of their work, well, I actually do have a few stuff from them; early work and the Love Metal album. I think it's the themes they sing of I like, not the band. I just stick with general gothic, on terms of bands with dark tendencies...I also must say I like grunge, punk, glam, no wave AND new wave.
Oh, and I LOVE the film Begotten. Influenced me so much, though not as good as Eraserhead.

I personally prefer the single that was released in France, "Heart-Shaped Glasses (When The Heart Guides The Hand)", than "If I Was Your Vampire".
Have you seen the track listing for this upcoming album? If I didn't know Marilyn Manson was behind all of this, I could have sworn it was the names of humorous song titles from Voltaire.

Actually... Love Metal was one of their worst albums in my opinion. Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666 was pretty good.
