It always hurts the first time...

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm a student in high school. Look past this if you will. If you won't, we probably wouldn't be well suited for each other anyway.

2. Where are you from?
Oberlin, Ohio.

3. Who is your favorite author?
This is not a fair question, so I'll give you a list. Virginia Woolf, Flannery O'Connor, Tennessee Williams, Vladimir Nabokov, and Franz Kafka are amongst my favorites.

4. What are your favorite films?
I'm poorly versed in cinema, particularly modern cinema. Favorites of mine include The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Pi, A Streetcar Named Desire, Dr. Strangelove (or "How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"), and ****** (the 1962 Kubrick version).

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I don't picture a wedding in my future, but suspending disbelief, I'd want a live female jazz singer and pianist.

6. At your funeral?
No funeral, please. Again, suspending disbelief, I'd like a pianist or a string quartet.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Poisoning. I'd like to die vomiting and go out at that reeling, engulfing climax.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
It won't matter to me when I'm dead.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
I have a slinky red dress I fancy. It reminds me of film noir. The 1920s and 30s have a special appeal to me.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Not having to wear a bra, not suspecting the motives of others.

11. What's your favorite band?
Seriously, I have to pick one? In the past few days I've been listening mostly to This Mortal Coil, VAST, The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, and Jethro Tull.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I'm currently in high school. I go to an advanced private school and all that rot. *Intellectual masturbation* When I get to college I want to study mathematics and either literature or theatre.

13. Why did you join?
Summer is here and I have time on my hands. I thought I might find people hear with which it would be nice to squander some.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
I'm a dirty old man trapped in a little girl's body.

Best,
Diane

I like you, for that question, and the fact that you enjoy VAST. Also, not many people appreciate the delicate art of poison.
Welcome, Dear. Have fun.

I'm new, too. A few of our answers for that little survey were very similar.
I'm also a fan of jazz. Good to meet you!

Welcome Miss, to Gnet. I like your taste in music and films. I own Dr. Strangelove on DVD, the original 1962 version in black and white, hilarious satire at it's best! "Gentlemen! You can't fight in here, this is The War Room!"

I think you will be a very fine addition to the Gnet. I hope you enjoy your stay.

You really do sound like a good person. Parles-tu français?
Unless I'm mistaken about this one and others are too, she'll be a good addition to the "community". Welcome darling. Enjoy your stay and don't worry, we don't bite too hard. *chuckles*
