Getting hair falls

So I'm not just considering getting hair falls, I'm pretty sure I will get them. I met this girl who will do them for about 100 bucks and I think that's cool and dandy. I want them because I just really want to have long hair and wearing a wig is not on my list of things to do.
Just wondering about some problems I might face. Like are they heavy? Is it hard to exersise with them in? I am talking about the ones you brain in.

I use weft clip hair. It can be long as all get out and cheaper than spending 100 dollars on hair extensions. The thing is, with hair falls, you pretty much get the best of both worlds. Short hair and long.

Instead of hair falls, couldn't you just get extensions?

100 dollars isn't that much for a good set of hair falls though. And the whole idea is to have them in for a month or so not being able to get them out.

And for the other response, I don't want hair extensions, I want hair falls. XD

You could make them from yarn. I also got a realy nice pair for only $50 from ikickshins...they may not be selling them though. MT Coffinz has some cheap and neat ones as well. Do some searching before you shell put the big bucks for them.

I'm confused. I thought falls were just attached to elastic and you just put them over your ponytails? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ryan bought me a pair of black and white dread falls. They're absolutely horrid and he overpaid for them. They do not have the quality to have even cost the $90 he spent on them.
But I wear them anyway, I didn't shell out the cash. I'm also glad that they fall to about the same length as my natural hair. I think I'd have died if they'd been short (my hair is 33" long).

Mine are insanely heavy. But they're about 40 dreads thick each and very long (about 30"). So of course they'd be heavy.
Regular hair falls are usually not as heavy as dread falls.

Graveyard, if you're getting them actually attached to your hair (glued, sewn in, or braided/weaved in) for at least a month, then they are not hair falls. They are extensions.
And $100 is pretty cheap to get extensions put in if it's being done by a professional.

Also, have you visited I Kick Shins? They're good quality and affordable. They're also the ones I originally wanted...

Well, I had a friend who payed over $300 to get human hair sewn in so she wouldn't have that weird hair cut all those scene kids have.
Getting it glued in would've cost her about $150 less. And if she hadn't of used human hair it'd've been even cheaper, but it would've come out sooner (within a month as opposed to two or three months).
Another girl I know went out with a friend and they bought a few packs of human hair for about $15 (for about 2 packs I think) each. They then glued the hair in themselves. It cost them about $20 each to do this themselves.

What type of falls are you looking at buying? If you're looking at loose falls, I imagine they would be very light. Also, I'd shop around. chelseagirl makes cute falls. You should check hers out before you fork out the $100.

Didn't read this post. I personally wouldn't spend $100 on dread falls. I'd make them myself. It's waaaayy cheaper and gives me something to do.

To break it down, you'd be paying $20 for the hair and $80 for the labour.

Dread falls can be quite heavy. It really depends on how the dread maker makes the dreads, and also how thick you want the dreads to be. If the dreads are really heavily backcombed, they will be lighter than dreads that aren't backcombed so much - because if you backcomb them heavily you don't have to use as much hair to make them.

I have bought quite a few dreadfalls from a girl I know from Vampire Freaks' "Dread To Be Different" cult. She's wonderful and her dreads are really light and well made. I think I paid about $50.00 per set from her. If you want, I could ask her if she's still taking orders. This is the last set she made for me:

I personally like dread falls to be made with single ended dreads instead of double enders. They lay better and look more real. I always have her just make me a bunch of single enders and then I mount them onto a clip myself, as I prefer clip on falls over falls on elastics or ties. Mounting them to a clip gives better coverage.

Also, you could join VampireFreaks, and join the DTBD cult, and post a want add. There's a thread on there where you post exactly what type of falls you want, and then dread makers will message you and quote you a price...then you can pick which seller you want to go with.

Also, to be able to sell dreads on DTBD, you have to send the owner of the cult examples of your work and also customer references. There is also a feedback section for buyers to leave feedback about their buying experience and the quality of the dreads, etc. Once a seller gets 2 bad feedbacks, they are banned from selling on DTBD anymore. This is great because you really know that you are going to get quality dreads, and if you don't like what you get, you have recourse.

The Heavenly Hair Board is also set up the same way, where you can place an ad for what you want, and sellers will quote you their price, and there is feedback for sellers also. The Heavenly Hair Board is here:

www.extra-muffins.com/hair

There's a lot of people out there selling dreads that shouldn't be. They sell bad quality dreads, and there are also a lot of people who will take your money and rip you off.

Whoever you decide to buy from, you should make sure they're on the up and up.

As far as loose hair falls, like the ones I make, the human hair ones are extremely light. However, synthetic hair is about twice the weight of human hair. I know from weighing the packages for shipping that one set of 16" human hair falls ususally weighs under 1 pound, but one set of 16" synthetic hair falls weighs about 1 3/4 pounds. You really wouldn't think that just 3/4 of a pound would make much difference, but it REALLY does. I don't wear synthetic loose falls at all because I find them too heavy.

I have made hair falls myself before, out of yarn, but the only ones that looked good were the swirly ones. I just don't know if it would look good and how to attach them myself that is all. I shall take some pictures of the ones I made and you can tell me if they are a decent starter.

Paying $100 for falls is quite dear. There are many places that have quality falls and cyber-dreds for a lot less.
