What happens after you die?
And I mean you, personally. Will you be cremated or buried? Which do you prefer and why does the idea appeal to you versus the other? There's a similar question asked in the introduction threads, but no one ever really goes in-depth about their favorite method of disposal after death or elaborates on why they choose what they choose. I think everyone has a little more of an idea than "because it's pretty :3".
I want to be buried in an anthropoidal wooden coffin, not a mass-produced, thin, sheet-metal refrigerator. I want to be dirt and dust, not a slimy preserved corpse or a puddle of toxic goo. What about you guys?

I want to be dipped in chocolate, the people that want can have a lick of me before they put me in my casket, and then I'll be buried with an ankh-shaped gravestone.
The ankh has nothing to do with it being oh so goth. It means life and that's cool. Plus I sure as hell don't want a cross on top of me until erosion fades it away.

Mmm, chocolate.
If I could pick without limitation of cost, I'd want a big statue of an angel of my own design. Maybe I'll draw it. It's quite hardcore. :P I've always had an affinity for angels. The idea makes me feel warm and fuzzy, even if I don't believe in them.
Mausoleums creep me out, but they're super cool. I don't think I'd want to be buried in one, even if they're the most beautiful grave markers in my opinion.

Haha! What timing! I am reading a book by Cesare Lombroso (Translated from Spanish to English by William Sloane Kennedy) called After Death-What?
According to the good doctor, I will end up a poltergeist, spending vast amounts of ecto-energy bending spoons and having my picture taken while wearing sheets.

What I'd like, is an underground burial chamber, large enough to hold my favorite posessions and the urns of my two cats. Sounds very ancient egyptian-esq, but my purpose is not to have these items for my 'afterlife', but more as a time capsule.
The reason I'd like it to be underground, is to protect it from the elements, possible nuclear fallout, etc.

Just feed my body to the sharks as a parting gift to the oceans. Perhaps a little coral reef will form on my bones...

I would personally like to be cremated and have my ashes sprinkled over my favorite place in the world.
The pond.
I want to be cremated and set free my spirit. I don't want to be kept in a box or be buried. Being buried would include my body rotting away and my body just taking up more space on this earth even after death. To me it's not something I want to do after my life is through.
So it makes sense to me to be cremated.

But if you rot away, you feed the earth. Cadavers are yummy num-nums. :3

Here is something different. When I die.... I want to be put inside a cryogenics clinic and be revived when technology allows it! Hell yeah, I want to live forever and I will not surrender to the idea that there will be an end in my conscious existence (although this idea is a bit vain... there is no immortality, but no aging...hmmm tempting! )
If there is no salvation for me, I'd rather be damped in the forest, my favorite landscape, and become part of the animals that inhabit it. I don't know of the existence after death, but even if I fall to non-existence(which I believe is the worst case) its ok with me... non existent people don't hurt...

You know what made me stop fearing death?
I sleep and have no dreams and it didn't scare me at all.

Well....
I personally would love to be buried on a hill viewing the Mivora lakes in the South Island. I don't want to be cremated at all, but carefully placed in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. I believe Metatron once painted a picture of this lake which depicted it's beauty, but it's nothing to what it's actually. A nice sunny spot on a hill overlooking those lakes on the edge of the native beech woods...
Oh, and a small marble plaque placed where my head would be with a poem I once wrote placed as the Epitaph, with my name and lifespan underneath it, and a wooden symbol of some sort placed where it can grow old and gather weeds and vines of some kind. I think it would look rather memorable.
That would be lovely.

What will the value of such a diamond be? Or would you prefer to become something like a family hairloom if you could be automatically turned into one over a few short years?

I've revised what I want from my intro thread to wanting to be preserved, dressed in my finest, placed in the display case at Pat McGuire's Irish American Cafe, with a ciggie in one hand, a pint of Guiness in the other and a word balloon above my head that says: Céad míle fáilte!

I find the idea of being placed in a longship and set out on the water very tempting...

Celebration Church Service with procession and environmentally friendly burial
I want a funeral which is a celebration. A jazz band like in Live and Let Die would be cool.. with dancing and stuff. Also a Gothic Eucharist maybe... thegotheucharist org uk
And then an environmentally friendly burial in a compostable coffin
