Keeping you favourite necklace from wearing out
I have this Pentagram necklece with a figure of The Goddess on it that I REALLY like, it means a whole lot to me but lately I have noticed it started to wear out. It is made of some sort of metal, silver colored. The details are starting to sort of becomle less vivid and I wonder is there is anything I can do about it.
Like something that I can coat it with that will stick to metal, or a substance to soak it in.
Thanks.

Your local jeweler will usually look at it for free. He or she might be able to give you some tips.

You could also attempt to polish your jewelry. Also, try to remove it when you take showers, and not get it wet at all.

If it is actually silver, you can take a toothbrush and tooth paste (not gel) and scrub the bejeezus out of it to being back the luster. It's what we call the poor man's silver polish. And is better for the silver.
Is the metal getting a green sheen or more "tarnish"? Is it likely steel or nickel?
Worst/annoyingest case scenario, look for a similar pendant on-line to dteremine the metal. You can either look up cleaning and restoration methods or I can pull some for you.
I hate it when a good pendant wears out.

Try shining it, or maybe you can buy another? I have some necklaces I don't want to loose, but I will eventually, so I stock up! If I REALLY love a necklace, I buy two of them.

Keep it in a safety box.

I'm guessing its silver plate, the worst thing you can do for silver or silver plated is get it wet as this oxidises the silver and caues the corrosion. Keep all jewellery dry whenever possible.
The toothpaste works brilliantly for silver, some of my supplies tarnished over time and they came up great with a brush
