Short poem

Some constructive critisism would be nice.

It is my life
My future
I shall do with it what I wish
My family gone
My name destroyed
My mere essence
But a chain of disbelief
Heart broken and ridiculed
My home lies benief the earth
If only one thing could change this mess
I would take my own life
For better, not worse.

Nah man, I don't like it at all. It doesn't flow and it is generic.

Well. Where to begin...

It's full of cliches, like, "heart broken" and "chain of disbelief."

That said, I also believe this could benefit immensely from some original, creative imagery. What you're talking about, the theme that you are exploring, is inherently unoriginal (as they say, nothing is original), and it is only through your unique spin that it becomes interesting to a reader.

Otherwise, it has already been done before. Many poets, at some point, have written angst-y, suicidal poems. The unique ones are those that stay with us.

Just to say, this is not mine, my friend asked me to post it for ratings so any comments are going to him.
