Parkour in heaven
I've no-one to rant to, and I feel like my chest is going to burst, so I need to release some steam here.
Today, at approximately 11 am I was awoken by a knocking on my door. I was a bit miffed since I was trying to catch up on some beauty sleep. I opened the door to find one of our maids informing me of my girlfriend waiting on the line. I picked up the phone and there was this sudden tension in her voice.
'Hun, you better sit down'
'Okay I'm sitting'
'Sigh, there was a car accident early this morning'
'Go on...'
'Hun, Mike was in it, Mad Mike...'
'Oh no...'
'Hun, Mike's no longer with us...'
'No, no, no...'
I kept saying no for five minutes, with my girlfriend on the other end of the line sobbing. I didn't want to believe this was happening. Only after I checked my cell phone and saw 11 missed calls and 3 unread messages did I begin to finally realize that it was true. FUCK!!!
He was part of my circle of friends, and one of the younger ones at that! He was at my birthday party just last week, and I remember talking to him about how fast his car goes.
What's more, last night, when the rest of the group was on a rooftop drinking, we talked about him for a full 20 minutes, about how he liked to parkour, or try and jump and climb railings.
I don't know what else to say. No one else is at home, and my dog can't talk back to me. My other friends are trying to spread the message, so I had to let out some anguish right here.
Rest in peace, Mike.

Fuck man, I'm so sorry. I have no idea of the pain you must be feeling right now. All I can say is that you'll be in my thoughts and heart. *big tight e-hug*

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. I lost someone last year who was like a brother to us all.
*Hugs*

Thanks for the quick replies guys, it really means a lot to me. What's cruel is that he was one of the younger ones in my inner circle.
He was 18. He was my campus mate in university. I've known him since high school, grade 12. He was always in every party my inner circle of friends set up. Why him? That was barely four years ago that he became my friend.
I kept asking Why'd you go, Mike? You're younger! It should be us older people who die ahead!

I'm sorry you had to experience something like this - it's not a nice thing to go through - just keep him in your memories and live your life like he'd have wanted you to.
more *hugs*

Thanks, you guys. Really. *hugs* I'm still in a state of denial, really. I was at his wake, and I wanted so hard to believe that it wasn't him in that coffin. Yes, I'll live life to the fullest, like he did.
