Has 666 ever appeared in the most unlikely places like a sign to you?
Ages ago when I went to Boots I tried one of them electronic weighing and height measuring machines.
The little paper that came out said
My height was 66.6 in (5.55 ft)
I kept the paper for so long as proof but now I cant find it anywhere.
Also another time I was in McDonalds and I ordered a chicken sandwich meal, diet coke and something else and the total came to £6.66!
And just now as I was sleeping on the sofa from dosing off from watching something about the Da Vince code I woke up at the exact moment they were talking about the number 666 and the antichrist.
Has this ever happend to you?

I saw it on a PATH train once, after I'd gotten lost as a result of falling asleep on the W.
For a second I thought I had died and gone to subway hell.

The number to Pizza Hut...
My barber's shop address
The number to the northern branch of my college...
Various mathematical combinations that tend to make a monkey out of me...

I have had it in change on occasion and a paycheck at a check cashing place not that long ago came to 666 dollars. (Weak check that time around.) I once had a chap at a convenience store trip out a little and decide to undercharge me by a penny. Silly. :^) I think?! El oh well!

I think that must be a national number for them. Where I dwell it is, well, 7 6s I believe.

That's rather sad. Especially considering it was over a NUMBER.

Ha! that reminds me of when I was buying a ticket home from Greece after all the added tax etc it came to 666 Euro. The geezer gave back a euro because of his superstitions.

A while back I pulled some change out of my pocket to pay for something at the convenience store, and noticed that I had exactly one of each coin. Here is a list of all the Japanese coin denominations:
500 yen
100 yen
50 yen
10 yen
5 yen
1 yen
Do the math.
If you're wondering why your brain plays this particular trick on you, plug "texas sharpshooter fallacy" or "clustering illusion" into Wikipedia.

On the general subject of numbers, I am a member of the Yahoo group, The 47 Society. I had an amazing amount of 47s in my life and eventually did a Google search and found that I was not alone. Kind of interesting.

Just don't go all psycho homicidal on us, like in the movie The Number 23.

Don't plan on it! :^) I did see that movie from an interesting persepctive. I actually think that the number thing is probably just one aspect of the larger topic of synchronicities. Defined in Jungian psychology as "meaningful coincidence." I've noticed synchronicities in general for many years, long before I knew what they were called.

While playing card once, I was holding three sixes and two aces(winning hand). When asked what I had, I toss it down and said, "Devil's hand, muthafuckers."
XD
T'was fun.

Speaking of numbers, if you do some research on John Lennon, you'll find that he had a kind of weird fascination with 9.

One day I put my calculator (which I left off) underneath a textbook accidentally. When I was about to go to my last class of the day, I picked up my calculator and it read 666. It was really strange. No other numbers were pressed too.
Oh and my accounting teacher assigned us a bunch of homework questions from page 666. That was just funny.

I have a thing for 5s.
I was born on 5/5
5 years after my parents were married
I got my horse when he was 5
5 has always been lucky for me..
I used to have a HUGE list of all the weird 5 things that came up, but I lost it.

I've had that one with my cell phone on several occasions. Once when I was in a relationship with a really out there girl my phone got wet and was all screwed up and I swear it kept dialing all sixes. I don't think it would stay turned off as I recall, either. It kept switching on and dialing 6 s!

Oh yeah! I just remembered the most classic one ever.
Back in the day, before the Internet, we used to hang out on these BBSs that you would connect to directly over the phone lines (there are probably a few other people here old enough to remember that). Some people put out these free rags with lists of numbers you could call to connect to.
In one of the magazines I picked up, there was a board called the "Christian Info BBS". The tel prefix was 666.
