Oh, and pathology is super-cool. If I was going into sciences, I'd love to do that...

Um, any reason for your forumname?
I'm sure you don't mean anything by it, it's just that as a jew I was a little jarred when I first saw it. Not to seem oversensitive or anything, just curious.
Welcome to Gnet, you seem cool.

Ha, sorry about that. Been using that name for about 3 years. Games, forums, electronic music project that every other person has. I don't even remember as to why I used it... I think i was feeling a bit misanthropic at the time, and what better way to suit it than by one of the greatest symbol's of genocide? It's a habit by now, and a few people I know even call me Zyk. It just stuck.

Welcome to the boards! You seem like a cool guy, I hope to hear more from you! How's CA? My dad's moving out there in a few days, and I haven't been out there since I lived there roughly 8 years ago. Anyways, welcome!

Anything a person does will probably offend somebody somewhere. There aren't too many options.

Southern California is pretty nice at any time of year. But the housing costs here in Los Angeles are ridiculous. Good thing my parents bought this house way back when. They bought it for what... around 200,000, now it supposedly valued at around half a million, in a little neighborhood that isn't even that great.

It doesn't snow in LA! Maybe in big bear a little more up north.. unless you mean Los Angeles county. I live in the city, about a 20 minute drive from downtown.

Yeah, CA is ridiculous when it comes to housing. My folks are looking to get a house about 40 miles south of San Francisco, in an older neighborhood, and all they can find are houses that are half a million or more. It's insane. I'm not moving out there, so I'm glad I don't have to deal with it.

And Xombie, I agree, but zyklon b is offensive to a lot of people. Granted, I didn't know what it was until two minutes ago when I looked it up, so it wasn't offensive to me.

It snowed here. As in Canada. Where I live.

I was just saying that if I personally wanted to articulate misanthropy or a general intolerance for humanity, I wouldn't choose a symbol that suggests hatred for a particular group of people. As I said, I now know that ZyklonB isn't a Nazi, and the name of a chemical compound in itself doesn't offend me, so I'm not pissed in the least.

I'm not a religious Jew, but I come from a Jewish family and view that to comprise an important part of my ethnic and cultural identity. I'm a Jewish Humanist, if you will.

I chose it , I believe, because Zyklon B was used systematically get rid of large groups of people, and effectively. I'm not anti-semitic, so the jew thing probably didn't cross my mind at the time. Though this is all what I assume now, since I don't really remember why.

Don't we all have our days where slaughtering people would be lovely? Not saying anybody would ever do it, but I'm pretty sure it's crossed everybody's mind at some point in time.
