I think most people would never have known your name was a HIM album.

If you're a guy.. shouldn't you be a Warlock instead of a Witch?

Everyone's a witch these days.
I know more Grand High whateveritises than plain old witches/wiccans/pagan other these days.

Let's just say that bad spelling on the OP's behalf and my quirky humor explain that one.

Welcome Darklight689! I don't think most people would have realized the connection between your username and the HIM album, there aren't a ton of HIM fans here. No worries about the name though, nobody will hold it against you or anything like that. Since you enjoy learning and reading and such, who are some of your favorite authors and what are some of your favorite subjects to study? Once again, welcome!

Come on, the "MALE WITCHES AREN'T CALLED WARLOCKS!" rule is lame. If I had magical powers, I'd call myself a Warlock, maybe a sorceror or mage. Witch is pussy, unless you're the 'Witch-king' like that one Nazgűl.

You know why the term "warlock" is frowned upon, right?

I do, but were I a warlock I probably wouldn't concern myself with whether or not my title offends people, provided that I would possess boundless arcane knowledge and power far beyond the ken of mortal men. I'd probably break a number of oaths in the course of my ascent to absolute magical supremacy anyway. Although ordinarily I'd scorch anyone so impudent as to call me a witch with black lightning, I'd allow you to make use of the term in reference to me if you really wanted to, because we're friends.

What sort of power do you think witches have...?
And I see you use the term "friend" rather loosely...

I'm just taking the piss, I don't actually believe modern people who sincerely profess to be witches (i.e. neopagans, wiccans, any other praciticioners of magic[k]) can shoot lightning bolts from their fingers. I'm playing off popular conceptions and the image of the magician which most commony appears in fiction, which represents kind of witch I'd be interested in becoming were that actually possible.

Upon further investigation I found this cool and surprisingly thorough article on the etymology of Warlock: http://www.boudicca.de/warlock-e.htm

lol okay sorry for long time on reply but my favorite author is anne rice by far, stephen king is kinda dry but i read him sometimes. Harry potter and things mostly about supernatural or horror nature...gothic horror is my fav ^^. Oh yeah my grammer online isnt as good when i write but yes i do write quite a bit. Music i listen to a variety right now my favorite band is probably slipknot or nightwish my preference changes almost every week just whatever im in the mood to listen to rock, goth, industrial, metal, some death metal (amon amarth <3) but anyone i listen to has to have talent so marylin manson = shit.

When i said i am a witch i am a pagan but not wiccan, its just something weird im more a student of the occult and warlock = traitor is what the term means so i dont use it. i use magician, pagan, mage whatever, no we cant turn people into frogs or shoot fireballs but we do stuff like divination, work with spirits more advanced of us summon them ;p. I dont do curses hexes or anything of that sort mostly healing arts and divination (tarot and runes) so far.

Anyone wants to know anything ask specific questions lol but ill answer these right away.
