Freaking Angry
This is the first time in a loooong time I am actually glad there is a whining thread. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me...or maybe my mother...but there are just too many communication problems. I mean, after she gets me a laptop, she screws it up soooo much that i have to restart it manually 8 times, and expects me to just go anywhere on the net I tell her to go, even when I'm in the middle of something. She can't turn off the T.V. when it's midnight and I have a big test the next day, but of course, since I'M THE CHILD I should have enough respect to stop whatever I was doing to meet her needs. She just plops down and goes "go to expedia". Dude, if I wasn't in the middle of something, the laptop would not be in my LAP. I should also be able to start with a clean slate with a new, sleel, shiny, laptop, right? But NOOO the machine is now so screwed up because she keeps hitting the wrong buttons and I have no idea how the little thing is going to last until next year, when I need to use it for boarding high school. No fucking way am I marching over to the library and depriving myself of the internet, just because my mother screws up the christmas present that SHE gave me. Whyyyy does the world need to suit you? Why are you shouting at my dad just because he's a kind, weak-minded man that doesn't have much willpower to ignore his whole entire fucking side of the family? And whyyy did you leave me to go mad because I guess you didn't have the patience or time to hear my side of the story? Ohhh MAYBE BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU'RE ALWAYS FUCKING RIGHT!

Why don't you just use your laptop in your room, with the door locked?

Wait a sec, are you saying our mom screwed up your computer?
How did that happen? I mean, where were you? Why don't you set up a password protection or something?

Ok, here's the thing. I need to let her use the computer if I don't want to be her estranged daughter, because she will blow up in my face if she gets angry.
Dude, I've tried it all.

With my mom, you let her blow up, but that explosion will be the longest you've ever seen, and she will make you cry.

Wow, interesting. I'm not sure if I can give any decent advice on this topic. Wish I had a laptop............................
But I must digress perhaps tell your mom that you have stuff that needs to get done and if you don't there could be dire effects. Well that probably didn't help, sorry. You remind me of somebody I know..........

I have an ancient, 386 based, early laptop from 1991 that you can have as a decoy. Leave it out on your desk, flipped open, and meanwhile you are halfway across town at the Starbucks with YOUR laptop, whilst she tries to figure out how to boot up and set the monitor from monochrome to color (hint: you can't. It's THAT old!).

I think you should keep that. It might be worth some big bucks in a tech nerd auction someday.
