That's not a battlestation. It's a small moon.

I saw an old Voyager photo of Mimas about ten minutes ago and went, huh, that looks a lot like the death star. So I looked it up on Wikipedia, and apparently I am not the first person to notice the similarity.

What I was trying to suggest was that maybe Lucas had been seen the photographs and been influenced. After a little digging, though, that's impossible, since the earliest good photos are from 1980, which is after the first Star Wars movie came out! It really is a cooincidence.
