Alone on V-Day. :P

Ok, I will admit it: The only reason I don't like V-day is because nothing special has ever happened on it for me in the romance department whenever it's rolled around. :/ [Though the lovely Mir -did- send me some virtual flowers, champaigne, and a card, which were incredibly sweet and very much appreciated.

Plus, the one time I -did- have a pseudo-boyfriend during this time, he turned out to be a total douche, didn't get me anything, and then didn't bother to explain that the reason was because he just didn't like me much like that. D=<

Needless to say, we didn't last.

But still, every time V-day rolls around, I get a little lonelier, and just wish for that true love thing that I've heard so much about, even if it is idealistic and silly.

I guess we could make this the official "I hate V-day because.." thread, so if you have similar negative feelings about Cupid's special day, feel free to share!

I hate VD becasue it makes awesome ladies like you feel like they have to have someone right now today, to be apart of the rat race of reproduction and white fences. Romance is fucking fun, having a stimulating partner mentally, sexually and creativly is a blast. I have been there but Im not right now. It doesnt mean that its not going to happen again. This life is to be lived~ VD = Doesnt have to be oh I nedd to be with someone. Tam Li some fucking awesome dude is going to come around to you and VD isnt going to make him any better or worse of a lover and friend or even a life partner. I only say that cause I deem it true in my life. Im alone, fuck it. I love myself and Im going to work, hang out with my dog, some friends and play some mother fucking Wow and it is going to be a kick ass day!

I have never received anything and do not expect to. I sent a card only once, when I was about...14? It was not appreciated by the guy I sent it to, and he basically hated me for it because it was me who sent it. I haven't bothered since. I don't see the point.

Eh, it's not so much that V-day makes me feel lonely in particular; I mean, I'm always pining for a mate...it just makes it that much hard for me to ignore the longing. :/ But I agree with you on the guy! He will come one day, in more ways than one! XD [Ok, that was a rather tasteless joke on my part. :3 ]

I might go to the store later, buy some roses and black spray paint, a big box of chocolates, and go to town. XD

tis better to have no one for valentines day than to have someone break up with you because they didn't want to spend the money to get you something (why are so many fucking rich guys such cheapskates?)

Thankfully that was a while ago and it lead to a friend of mine and myself becoming platonic valentines throughout most of high school (we stuck cards in each others lockers, bought each other candy grams and/or flowers through the school so that they would be delivered in class, and would skip down the halls together)

Don't even sweat it. It's just another day. Just be glad you don't live in ancient Rome, where the day was celebrated by all the young men running around with bloody strips of goat hide trying to smack all the young ladies with them.
