Bleaching jeans
I've just whacked a load of bleach on some black jeans.
I've seen some pics of it before and it seems pretty cool.
Anyone have any idea of the time it takes?
And anything nice to go with it?

Well they're still completely black and it's been several hours.
Pretty sure I did something wrong?
Gonna get stronger bleach.

I do it to t-shirts, cause the dye they use often turns a lovely shade of dried gore when bleached.
EDIT: also, I've had the same problem as Malice.

Yer.
I fixed it now.
I got a thicker bleach.
One that wasn't ASDA own brand.
They now have lovely splatters and streaks of an orangey rust type colour.

Glad it worked out. Domestos has always worked well for me, but I guess you don't need that now.

Pssht. All the time I spend ranting and raving when my clothes get bleach spots accidentally and you go splattering yours on purpose.

Domestos is generally regarded as the strongest and best bleach for clothes. That's by my friends anyway, I've never had to use it since regular bleach works fine for me.
The colour clothes will bleach is dependent on the amount of natural fibres in the fabric. More natural fibres = a great bleached effect. When stuff doesn't bleach well it's usually a stretchier polyester blend, particularly common in t-shirts.

I took a paint brush and flicked the stuff all over my black jeans. But, I used the bleach full stregth. The parts I splatered with bleach are a yellowy color. I was hoping for a redish gore color.
I loved doing this! I can't believe that I had to look up how to do this!
I'll try again with dilute bleach.

They look great Opteron.
On another note I'm using bleach for my final piece in my art exam.
Am I the only person that finds less thick/heavy tshirts easier to bleach than jeans?

As good as this looks, I don't think it suits me. I put those pants on and it looks odd with my black shirt, polished black Doc Martins and Black hair.

I can see how that would change up the look, mostly because I guess when everyting else is sleek, you don't want messy pants? Try something else that's not as sleek, a little messy even.

I call bullshit.
I have a pair of bleached up skinny jeans that look bloody great with a blood red dress shirt, black tie, and vest.
Think deathrock meets neo-Victorian. Looks awesome.

Yes, well you're unbelievably sexy, so it's cheating Josh.

Kontan's right too.
Contrasting clothes can look great.
As great as the word Juxtaposition.

I just used the cheapest shit I could buy, and the bleaching effect happened before my eyes. I did two shirts and a pair of pants. Awesome!
