Oh, I'm just an insatiable music nerd. Actually, I read a shitload of music zines on the internet, get recommendations from friends sometimes, and just generall have a nose for good music. Ha! I'm so full of myself... Not really.

And I love Elliott Smith, too. You can probably tell, since my Yiddish nick is also the title of one of his songs.

I'm on a post-punk roll this morning:

Radio Berlin - The Hyphen

Oh yeah?

I have all the Blonde Redhead albums except one. Great stuff. The bassist of the band I'm listening to now, who are one of my favourites too, also plays on their "Fake can be Just as Good" album.

Unwound - The World is Flat

Oh, I've only gotten into Blonde Redhead recently, their female voice has an exquisite voice.

Currently Listening to:

Night Of The Wolverine 1 - Dave Graney 'n' the Coral Snakes

If you like her vocals, you should check out two other bands with a female Japanese vocalist: Toko Yasuda. She sings and plays bass/synth in Enon, as well as The Lapse. Particularly Enon is brilliantly weird and catchy indie rock with lots of electronic elements.

Ok, now I'm listening to a heavy Austrian instrumental post-rock band. Kinda similar to Isis, but more ethereal.

Shora - Siphrodias

The Number Twelve Looks Like You - My Sharona (The Knack)

Crazy hardcore band's version of this rockin' tune, with screamed vocals all over. Good stuff. There's even a cheesy guitar solo at the end!

Silver Apples? Like psychedelic old-skool primitive industrial. Kinda minimalist, a bit of noise... You'd have to hear it, really. Throbbing Gristle is one reference, but then again they didn't have so many sick acid melodies.

Listening to:

Stryper - Battle Hymn of the Republic

"Blutengel" - Falling (rmx Angelus Mortus)

So says WinAmp. I'm a little bummed this particular station hasn't played any "Lords of the New Church" in a long while...
