I feel violated.....
I just found out that somebody put a keylogger program on my computer. I have had to call my banks and change my cards,etc... My *********** was hacked back in October and I think that it happened at that time. Fortunatly the person that did it didn't use any of my banking information, or change any other of my passwords because nothing relating to that has happened. It seems like they used it to hack into my *********** and that's it. I have the same feeling right now as I did when my car got broken into. I feel really dirty. Has this happened to anybody else?

They changed my whole info page and deleted my entire friends list. I just deleted it because it wasn't worth the effort to fix it.Every time I changed my password they would go in and change it back. I reported the email they used and they got banned from ***********.
Thanks for the support. :-)

I don't have any of the info any longer. I believe what comes around goes around and the little brat that did it is probably going to end up getting ***** in prison by a big toothless guy named Bubba.

They did it because I said that the singer that they liked sucked. Yep...they placed a keylogger program on my computer because of an idiotic reason like that.

Quck question Horrorgirl, do you have any idea how they put it on your computer?
Did you inadvertantly download and execute it? Or is this person you know offline and they physically jacked with your computer?
One word. Avast!, easily the best antivirus suite created and completely free. i'm not certain, but it could have put a stop to it.

Nobody has access to my computer physically so I know it didn't happen that way. I actually have no idea how they did it. I never open email that I don't know, especially attatchments.

Horrorgirl, I am sorry you had to go through this. I have had my car broken into several times, and the door was kicked in and my apartment ransacked once, so I definitely understand the invasiveness of this violated feeling. I wish it didn't happen, but I am so glad you caught it before it amounted to something more.

I'm really glad that they didn't use any of my banking information. I was really lucky when it comes to that. The only inconvenience I am suffering is having to wait for new cards, so I guess things aren't that bad. However, I still feel icky.

Oh sweetie,
I've never had my computer jacked but I had someone steel my ATM card number. It was the worst. I had no idea till the bank called me. And then of corse I was cut off from my cash while waiting for the new cards to come. Just make sure to watch your statements for a month or so to make sure they didn't try anything shitty.

If you can find the old MS antispyware use it. norton is also good. Spybot Search&Destroy is very good.
If you get a odd entry from any program try looking it up.

I heard the best method to make sure your PC is protected, is to torch the fucker.
I don't mean torch, but I mean a fresh install of whatever OS you are using. Once a PC is compremised, it is always compremised.

That's a damn fine way to be absolutely sure that you've scrubbed your system clean, as long as you start with a reformatting of all HDDs and DO NOT restore DLed files from backup. I've actually re-infected my computer from a floppy disc of my Tech School Notes b/c I was unaware that it also contained the email and attachment that had infected it in the first place.
