Genma are japanese demons... From the Onimusha game series (Like Onimusha Tactics, which I'll use to explain here). It takes old japanese lore with Oda Nounaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and they control herds of demons known as the "Genma Horde"
Maybe Oni would have been better to say, becaue that's more general.

Thank you very much.

And dare I say it? Lordi have been the best thing on Eurovision so far!

They RAWK! hahahahahaha

:falls off chair:

Terry Wogan's comment was priceless "Really, it's the return of the Klingons and the Orcs."

I've come to skulk down here for a moment as I fear the French entry will make my ears bleed...

And the evening started off so well... Nice bit of Dr Who....

It was hilarious! We were cheering them on!

As songs go, it was pants, but as Eurovision goes, it was a brilliant bit of television! When you consider that the rest were all peroxide bimbo Aguilera-wannabe's, croony suited types or 'omigosh-we're-sooooo-wacky' 'funsters' or French, they stood out for pure entertainment value. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Thank you Finland.

Oh, and I almost forgot the best bit - when they were handed the delicately beautiful bouquets of flowers by the bewildered hosts. marvellous stuff!

Finland! Now you all remember Finland. Woohoo!

This is the best thing of Finns - to send a monster heavy band into the middle of Shakira clones - and then win the contest.

Oh my goth, Nightwish broke apart?? What in the world will you do now?

You ought to have heard the comments on the streets and on TV in Belgrade on the account of Lordi winning last night. As if the dream of perfect pink world (competition) is going down the drain.

Congratulalions, Finnland - it was with glee and a wide grin that I heard the norwegian commentator translate the points giving with a more and more amused and bewildered tone in his voice. I loved it

Never heard (of) them. Who are they?

I'm either showing my age or my ignorance.

Probably both!

Hehehe..well, you are stuck with HIM then, I guess.

@spookypurple

You're not missing much. They remind me of KISS. I guess that from last night you'll be able to find tons of their songs online.

I was really amazed with the comment of Serbian reporter from Athens who (she) said something like this:"Congratulations Finland! I hope we'll see them very soon without their outfits and realize they are actually very nice and good looking guys".

I just love our reporters.

Cool

Lordi Rawked

And there's more...

And, even as I type, my hubby's down here on his computer, checking out their website. I did wonder what all the chuckling was...

Is this going too far for the sake of humour???

Nightwish is a power metal band with an opera singer, who sometimes dresses to gothic clothes. That's why some people think they're a goth band, but we don't need to take that seriously.
