A friend of mine made a shirt that said "Orch Dork". He was very proud of himself.

"The doubt is whether a creature that certainly appears to be alive really is. Alternativley, the doubt that a lifless object might actyally live.
That's why dolls haunt us. They were modled on humans. They are, in fact, nothing but human. They make us face the terror of being reduced to simple mechanisms and matter. In other words, the fear that, fundementally, all humans belong to the void. Further, science,
seeking to unlock the secrets of life, brought about this terror. The notion that nature is calculable inevitably leads to the conclusions that humans too, are reducable to basic, machanicle parts."
-Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence

To die, without the dieing
And live, without the life
This is the hardest miracle
propounded by belief.

I did that once, except that I stuck around to watch. My brother washed his eyes out in the sink, which, interestingly enough, had just been used to run boiling hot water.

PErsonally I find the other version a little funnier: "When life gives you lemons, throw lemons at people."

Actually... I do suspect that Cradle has either quoted me or come up with something very similar to something I said a long time ago.

"Thus I came...to a deep religiosity, which, however, reached an abrupt end at the age of 12. Through the reading of popular scientific books I soon reached a conviction that much in the stories of the Bible could not be true....Suspicion against every kind of authority grew out of this experience...an attitude which has never left me."

"I'm not an atheist, and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God. We see the universe marvelously arranged and obeying certain laws but only dimly understand these laws. Our limited minds grasp the mysterious force that moves the constellations."

Albert Einstein.

Notice that the great genius says that the stories in the Bible could not all be true, but that in the latter paragraph he implies that there is still a God.

Also supported by his famous comment "God does not play dice with the Universe".

That is exactly why I chose those two quotes by him. To some, the two quotes might seem to contradict one another but they don't. Also, let us not get into a discussion about his idea of God.

There's no discussion to that, he said his God is the God of Spinoza.
