Though Salad Fingers is nothing compared to "Spoilsbury Toast Boy", about a boy who's enslaved by malicious cockroaches/beetles. Or, how about "a Black & White Cartoon About Roof Tiling"? They're all disturbingly wonderful, and beautifully surreal. "Burnt Face Man", One of Firth's only comedies, is also not to be missed.

I went through an entire soccer practice wearing my black fedora.

I want a cult. I have a lease on a few souls, but I keep forgetting to fill out the paperwork.

I LOVE Spoilsbury Toast Boy. I think David Firth is a creative genius, even though many say he's a disturbed psycopath who shouldn't be let near a computer.

His 'Milkman' animation is good too.

Hi Joe, I`m surprised you said that because I`ve heard that the mid-ninties was one of the "goth nice times"....=S...however, I think that`s really relative so...
I`m from this tropical-small-socialistic politic country in which people prefers to know less rather than complicate things (Venezuela). Gothic subculture in schools is very, VERY reduced, and worse yet, they all think that punk, metal, dark, emo, satanist, etc it´s all the same thing.
At school I wear uniform, and since I talk a lot with the teachers, and the director they let me do whatever crap I feel like on my hair, wear my little nose piercing, and paint my fingernails (but I dont exaggerate a lot)
When I´m on the streets some people gives me the stares. But when someone talks to me, he/she realizes I´m a nice person.

"FUCK" is spelled with a "C".

You spelled it wrong twice in that little section to the left of your post, under your name.

I'm currently a sophomore in maryland, USA (just in case someone dosent know)

I dont really get a lot of problems besides being called emo or being called a juggalo.
A lot of people in my school are prep, but their is about 50 kids out of 1000 who are emo or juggalo's. So naturally, I get stuck in with the others.

It dosen't really bother me, I just tell them I'm not emo or a Juggalo.

Or we might just suggest that D.C. post in black text from now on, because that'd be very Goth.

My school is boring, everybody is pretty much the same, and my few friends that are a bit different don't like fighting with the rest of abusers and bullies. I'm not a goth, but I've been called "weird" and "dark".

lol.

Then why did you come here?
I don't understand this new trend of NOT calling yourself goth, but still managing to find yourself on the site labeled GOTH.

Explain it, hmm?

Also, do you go to Charles E Brown Middle School in Newton, Massachusetts? When I went there, the music teacher was named Mr. Doctor.

And then there's the ones who blatantly claim to be GOTH! (with a capital 'G') and then list their favorite 'goth' bands as HIM, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, etc.... you know the type. Generally they also can't spell, punctuate or use grammar to save their lives, and are full of piss and vinegar in a decidedly non-goth fashion. They also can't dress themselves, and their makeup is more akin to sad clowns or retarded mimes than anything else.

Frankly, I like the former type better than the latter.

Lol!

Oh, I have fun. I just wear normal clothes to them, though. I mean, what I wear EVERY day.

I just HAPPEN to like rens, know what I mean?

(If I had the money, I'd go as a pirate, though... That'd rock.)

I always dress in full renaissance gear, and although I've never been able to actually affect an olde-english accent for the day, I think that going to a ren fest and not participating or laughing at the shows is kind of pointless.

Well, were I am (northern california) the middle school students were very tolorant of me, yet I do not dress goth, i prefer the punk look. But the staff seemed to dislike my every intention. I have not had a natural hair color since fifth grade and I remember re-dying my hair about six-teen times because the school system calling my hair color a "distraction." Being in high school is much worse. They then see chains and pyramid studs as "weapons," colored hair as "needing attention" and a bullet belt (with empty rounds[you can actally see were the clothing company opened them to make sure no powder is left] specifically meant for wearing not killing) as trying to "shoot up the school." I am a very positive person and get along with anyone who gets along with me and I would never resort to violence yet the high school staff thought this because I looked "distant" and "internally angry." After being called to the office and getting my expensive items (in wich i had no clue were noit allowed at school and were not listen in the dress code) taken away I finally turned to independent study in wich I am completely happy with.

Is this an elitist site? Have you seen me? hmmm, no. I'm not a goth because I don't wear make-up O_O, or so that's what would make me a goth in the eyes of the rest, and in this case, you.

I wear black sometimes, sometimes, grey, and sometimes, green and red, and white. Honestly, I've got better things to do that go to a little store and buy DIY supplies to make "original" clothes "that make an statement".

I've got a friend that looks like a goth, and when I go to some parties I always wear a black shirt, just because I've only got one. That's why some people often refer to me as dark, also because I send them to hell whenever they come to me with their fake symphaty.

I assume you're a goth, or so call yourself like that, and of course don't follow that trend. And so you give a good name to that misunderstood culture, by judging everyone by their cover. How not elitistic and open minded, that's what makes me like the "gawth" people.

Uhhhh... okay xD

*ruffles your hair*
Way to put words in my mouth, slugger!

You're the one who said you aren't goth, not me.

You just supplied me with information.
I never mentioned make-up or anything in the way of aesthetics.

On the other hand, I'm completely elitist. Get used to it.
When did I say I wasn't elitist or that I was offended by elitism?

Us rivetheads LOVE the stuff!

lol. Rivethead. Yeah, I can't avoid putting things in people's mouth
.I'm the one who hates elitists =P, Elitism is for the weak and the fascist O_O. hahaha.

I just dislike labelling goth when I don't look like it , nor do I ONLY like that music. =/, I joined because of I like the music, I thought that was the point of "gothic". or was. yeah..was , stupid me. anyway, Mein Fuhrer, the trend is in fact to raise the level of elitism in web-forums.
