Yay for breaking down stereotypes. 
Little kids can be so amazing. Their heads aren't filled with all the bullshit that teens and adults have, so they don't see a goth and think of goat sacrifices and Columbine. Plus they're often a lot more perceptive and sensitive than adults, and that's more commonly labeled as being naive! >_>
'Course, the rest of the time they can be little shits. But that's usually just to their parents.

Thanks honeythorn; it IS a really good idea to just stare at people. I had some major practice tonight at the gym (w00t!). And as for religious freaks, I'll say "Jesus was hated for being different too, you know" or "Haven't you heard of "judge not lest ye be judged?"" If they say "Jesus loves you" I might say "sorry, I already have a boyfriend" or "Satan loves me more". Just some ideas.

I just stare. It's really funny, because if you practice (or are around a lot of idiots) you can learn to keep your eyes open for, like, 2 or 3 min. It REALLY creeps people out.

I'm quite oblivious, so unless someone come up to me and says something I most likely won't notice. Staring really unnervs people and it's fun (I people watch and some people get pretty uncomfortable).

With assholes i have a special method of dealing:
If they talk to me, i ignore them and walk away.
If they touch me, i lay into them and if i need my brick, i use it.
Simple.

I have yet to find anyone who can outstare me add to that a tiny evil little smile whilst staring like you're trying to burn their retinas off works a treat.
Heres another good one, stare at their hair or ear or something, as though they have an alien crawling over it. I usually go for hair or forehead, like they have a huge twelve headed zit that demands a horrified or amazed expression. Most people will surreptitiously touch that area to see what you are staring at. It make me LAAAARF!!!!

Most of the time if I don't have something that to say that would shut them up or totally pawn them, then I ignore them. If that doesn't work I glare at them and scare the shit out of them with my evil look.

Well, though I don't get many of these and I'm usually too tuned into my MP3 player or my friends to notice staring, It doesn't happen often, but...
I've discovered that in Japan, waving is a way to say "Fuck you!" so I wave. A lot.
And occasionally, if I'm in a bad enough mood, I'll pick my teeth/made sexual gestures involving my mouth & tongue, with my middle finger pointing directly at them.

Outside of school, I usually try to disgust them, by saying sexual things completely irrelevant to what they said to me.
Such as the other day, when I was innocently walking my dog. I had just crossed the street, and was by a stop sign, when someone within a car full of asshats decides to yell to me out the window, "It's not Halloween, bitch!"
I replied by asking that particular asshat if he wanted a blowjob.

The only time I will threaten one with physical violence is when people at my school bother me about my big, chunky, knee-high demonia boots. The ones who annoy me about them usually are males, so I tell them that if they do not shut up about my boots, I'll kick 'em in the crotch with 'em.
With that method, they hush up instantly.

Don't even tell me we aren't singled out from the rest of the student body by the school staff. My ladyfriend and I, while showing some slight affection, were picked out from two or three other couples and given a stern lecture and threatened with severe consequences should we do it again. Now I understand cause and effect, but the man was in our faces and treating us like proper criminals, which I didn't appreciate. Unfortunately, when the asshole is in a high place of power, all one can do is look him strongly in the eye and say, "yes sir."
