Darling, we aren't scared of you in the way that you think, we are scared of you in that "What has happened to the world if people like that are in it" kind of way.
There is a difference when people laugh with you or at you.
I really hope this is a joke at this point. No really, lie to me so that my brain can rest in peace.

I don't mean we are doomed because of our youth! I mean we are doomed because of... well... Some humans [not all] are stupid and lazy; by this I mean that they refuse to beleive anything bad will happen to them. So they figure that they don't need to help lower pollution in the earth- and they fail to realize that something needs to be done NOW, and not LATER. Humans have a tendancy of waiting until something is 'too late' before they do something about it. You can tell them a thousand times "if you don't stop polluting, it will damage the earth." and they won't do shit about it until the earth starts breaking apart! I wrote a whole essay on it for english. =p

[Realize I am not talking about EVERYONE; I am talking about a group- maybe even majority]
[I know there is no actual proof of global warming. It was an example; and wether or not it is true, pollution is wrong.]

Don't back down, DeathChii. Backpedaling and belatedly qualifying your argument makes you seem weak; press forward with your idea, with which I happen to agree.

Humanity has doomed itself through a voracious appetite for expansion. We need to learn to stabilize ourselves, to try to bring back some measure of balance, and this we are not willing to do. I mean, we have cars with doors that open automatically so we won't have to expend a half-calorie pulling on a handle, and we call it "progress."

We're fucked, plain and simple, and the youth is part of the problem. Too many people, not enough resources, and egos the size of zepplins. No one wants to settle, to simply maintain what we have, and in an age as saturated with humanity as ours, expansion is a death sentence.

I'll see you all in hell. Try to enjoy the drop.

MissFreakyChick,

Be careful not to mix up Metal and Goth, as they are two different subcultures. I do believe they can be friends, though.

And learn to write English. They like that around here.

And when they die off or are killed due to their immense stupidity and arrogance, those of us youth who aren't terminally stupid (Maggot, Dancing_In_Rain, Myself, and others) will inherit the earth. We shall then invest the required effort into reversing (if possible) the grand fuck up we've made our world.

You ladies and gentlemen should have more faith in the young. Besides, we learn from what you, our elders, teach us. Teach us not to despair for our future, else we may learn to sit and do nothing while we tear the world into pieces small enough to put in your refridgerator.

I point only to my signature. And an Anton LaVey-quote: It's too bad stupidity isn't painful.

You know, older people have always thought the growing generation to be incompetent - all the way back to Socrates. So there's no worry, really, nothing new there.

Well this old geezer has faith in the young. I have been fortunate enough to converse with a lot of young people here, and they are way ahead of where I was when I was the same age. Uh...not that it isn't hard to do...only took a few decades for me to get a clue. Ok, never mind. Where's my bedpan?

AND the fellow Canadian speaks true...
If the world is as messed up as it is currently (global warming, lack of humanitarian aid etc.) it's not because of the current generation of young ones. It's because of those pesky 30-70 year olds (except for HumanePain of course!) who couldn't be bothered to see the signs that our world is dying. That was my little apocalypto message. On a more optimistic note, if we want a change, we must work for it. In the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi:

Quote:
"We must be the change we wish to see in the world".
Amen to that.

Yeah... I meant the future was doomed for us because the world is dying... I don't know why everyone thought I was talking about our generation =S
