How about forcing new users to have one post in the introduction forum before they are allowed to post anywhere else? Not only will this encourage new persons to introduce themselves, it will end the problem with all the spambots that seem to have targeted the forums.

True. Perhaps also increase the minimum length for the first post. I think most will be in excess of 300 characters if answered fully.

I don't think anyone should be required to post an intro before they can post elsewhere (some people may want to test the forum out before deciding to stick around) but not letting them start threads (other then in the intro section) until they have a specific thread count (if that is even possible)

Hell no!

Besides, that'll just make it known to any spambot archives that the intro forum is the place for spambots to post.

Perhaps this has been asked before (potentially by myself, even), but why is the members list hidden? It gets annoying searching through old threads just to look up a member.

Further, the FAQ button leads to a page with only one question on it and the new posts function is disabled or defective... the latter in particular would be exceptionally useful.

I don't know if someone mentioned this already because there is no way in hell I'm going to look through fourteen pages but id like to have a religion thread section, simply because I would love to get to tear through a few idiot Christians from time to time

Then you might as well start now.

I'm not a Christian. I find the whole religion absurd, frankly. But does that make every Christian an idiot? For example, HumanePain on this very board. Is he an idiot? No, he's a highly respected member.

being respected doesnt make you intelligent for one thing

believing a jew lived 2000 years ago, walked on water, turned water to wine, raised the dead, was executed, came back to life, watches over you, can forgive you for your past, and was the son of a giant invisible man who lives in the sky watching over you and who created everything

that DOES make you an idiot

The majority obviously votes for Bush... So my statement still stands.

Hm. If what a friends brother who studied on some vatican-camp thingy a few years back says is true, the more senior clergy just believe the bible is a guideline, and is entirely euphamistic.

That's a bit like the CEO of McDonalds refusing to eat a BigMac really, isn't it? Christianity is just a franchise for the weak.

I'm going to put that in my sig. I occasionally come up with the odd gem after all.

Actually no.
A president doesn't need a majority vote to become president, he only need the plurality vote.
He could have a 20% approval rating and win if there were other eight candidates with an average approval rating of 10%.
And in any case, let's work with your statement:
The majority approves of Bush.
Well, the totality believes in Christ.

I wish there were a "Religion" section. I was actually surprised to see that there wasn't. After all, most boards have one, and there is already a "Politics" forum.

Religion also appears to be a favorite subject of some of the users here, but it's not very pleasant to waltz into a seemingly and originally unrelated thread only to find baiting and flame-starting about religious topics going on where, in a section specifically dedicated to such discussion, there might be real debate as opposed to inane mud-slinging.

Plus it's one of my favorite topics. :3

I'm curious whether the person responsible for G.net upgrades actually reads this thread? Posters have been asking for a religion section since this thread started. Just wondering. But for my two cents' worth, I would also like to see religion threads packed neatly into their own little corner. The religious propaganda strewn over the whole forum does get very annoying.

Didn't there used to be one? I could have sworn that there was and it was removed because there was all of zero threads that didn't consists mainly of hate, disillusionment, and prejudice. Then again it was a few years ago so it may have been a different forum but I think that it was this one
