I mean with my PERSONAL experience. People who dress goth DO NOT get made fun of. O_o that's just weird. I mean why would you make fun of the tough kid xD lol If you're the quiet kid in the corner you get made fun of, no matter what you wear ><
Of course in my school we don't make fun of people in the corner either lol but I mean that's most likely xD

Yeah. But no body makes fun of the kid in the corner unless your in the higher classes. The classes in my school go:Level 2, Level 1, AP, Honors. If your in level 2, your grades dont matter as much as the people in level 1+. And those are the people that make fun of you if you're different. I made a comment about a holiday for my religion in my level 1 history class and the kids next to me go "what the hell does that have to do with anything?" and they just laughed at me. I was like "um.. Oh okay. If you go into a European country on that day and fuck up and end up in jail, you're gonna regret making fun of me."

But usually people don't make fun of the way we dress. But unfortunately, I'm one of those undercover goths, that wear all colors because my mom refuses to buy me dark colored clothes and such... >.> I feel like a total loser though, when I wear color. And I'm one of those cyber/victorian mixed types too.

Although this person is clearly an idiot, I wouldn't [completely] wipe out the fact that this site is indeed real, and is run by a bunch of extreme conservative christians or the like. Look at the above sites. If you didn't actually know the background to them, you'd swear that they really are parodies, when in reality they aren't. Sure the content is indeed questionable and a lot of the time downright untrue. But the same goes for the other "godhates_____" sites. I'm not saying this site is for real, but there's always that possibility. And heck, I find godhatesfags scary. Sure, the Westborough Baptist Church only has 100 odd followers, but people can get their hands on guns, bombs and other destructive weapons. 100 people could cause quite a massacre in NYC pride. Maybe I'm just running away with myself here but that's just my two cents :]

GHG has no disclaimer on it's page, despite what you may have seen on the google link. I wouldn't believe anything any one says on the internet really. But I wouldn't be naive enough to assume that crappy web design and outlandish comments & images are, for sure, not taken seriously by their creator.

The fact that there is "godhatesgoths" "godhatesfags" and "godhatesamerica" etc. Is just more reason to beleive it's only a series of parodies =P plus there are more MUCH more destructive 'groups of people' that are against such things =\ unfortunatley.

*Sighs* It's just people with far too much time on their hands that make those sorts of websites. To be honest, I can't see how they are amusing to anyone. Each to their own I suppose.

Personally, I think chavs/preps take more crap than any group of individuals. Sure, most of the time it's because of the majority and how they act and the morals they seemingly maintain, but not all of them are terrible.
Most people I've met or spoken to about the Gothic sub-culture are more mystified by it all, rather than anything else. To me, evoking mystery from a stranger beats being ignored and seen as 'normal'

I'll tell ya a little story about godhatesgoths, it is apart of Landover Baptist Church in the town of Freehold, Iowa if I remember right. It's been awhile since I did the research.

Now before you all get your panties in a wad there is no such place as Freehold, Iowa. Nor is there a Landover Baptist Church. These folks are pretty funny.

Godhatesgoth has come up on this forum time and time again. Each time, before GHG was down for construction someone had to point out the disclaimer. It was there. So instead of saying,....I won't believe it til I see it with my own eyes...how about listening to those of us that have seen it with our own eyes. Or do ya'll think we are lying to you because we hate goths? *snort*

As for Westboro <~correct spelling, Baptist Church, they are loud but peaceful protestors. They protested here, right up the street from where I work when the high school put on that stage production about Matthew Shepard. They sing and hold up posters. It was those that opposed the church folks that got unruly and hauled away by the police. If they want to cause bodily harm at a Pride parade they can do it right here in the Midwest. Omaha, KC, Des Moines, the Twin Cities....Very unlikely, they would be outnumbered and they know it. godhatesfags, america and Sweden are owned by Westboro and are not parodies. To them anyway. Geeez they would really hate me, a Swedish American bisexual.

It took us quite a while to work out it was a satire site.

To be fair, it highlights just how important it is to properly read something before saying how you would like to do horrible and nasty explody things to the person who made it.

I would try and defend myself by saying I didn't read the site, but that just makes me as guilty as the rest of the un-educated masses under my shepardage, if not more so... ><

I found godhatesgoths forever ago. It took me all of 30 seconds to figure out it's a parody site, laugh a little and move on. The names of the fictional people "quoted" in their articles give it away. It's still pretty obvious even if you didn't read the disclaimer (I didn't know there was one).

Goths are the only ones who obviously stand out? I beg to differ. Drag queens (unless they're VERY good), people of other ethnicities, such as Asians, African-Americans, Native Americans, etc., women (unless they're UNBELIEVABLY butch, ;p), are also of a visible minority. And believe me, they get it just as bad - if not worse - than we do. Have you ever heard of those unfortunate goths in third world countries having their clitori removed, or vagina sewn shut? Or perhaps the heated debate over whether or not goths should be allowed to marry?

They are all Church Of The Creator sites. They used to be on all the US talk shows - Springer, Maury, etc. spewing their hate. Seeing that yer from Dublin, I'm surprised ye missed their other site - www.GodHatesIreland.Com

Apparently, we are Catholic, and even though we are a Christian nation with no death penalty and abortion is illegal, we still offend their god somehow.

It reminds me of that scene from Family Guy (Season 5) when the rapture occurs and Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell are the only two left on the planet...
