Did I ever say that? No, I liked the quote so i used it. For the record The Pistols were not a bleeding pop band. They inspired so many other bands that without them the musical landscape would be radically different.

they were a pop band. despite influencing some great bands they were put together to sell clothes to idiot kids. the hilary duff of their time. altough i dont like the ramones much either, they were infinitely more important to punk rock music as we know it (and we're ignoring bands like the sonics, the electric eels etc.), and also infinitely more important to your beloved S.O.D. (who i do enjoy, btw)
p.s. the dammed put a record out first, and they fucking rule.

I know this. New Rose was the first single put out by a British punk band. I also like The Damned. Malcom McLaren was a douchbag anyways. You know your stuff I'll give you that. I hate it when uninformed idiots rag on a band they know nothing about. Sorry, its been a long day.

G.G. Allin did what Sid did about 300000 times better, not to mention playing better music.

I've listened to GG Allin and frankly I don't like him at all. I think his music is disgusting yet catchy. I'd rather listen to Sid's stuff.

I hate to say this. Oh, how I hate to say this; Fetus is correct in saying that the Sex Pistols were a pop band, and in his assessment of Sid Vicious. Vicious was chosen for the band because he was pretty, not because of any talent. He couldn't even play the base when he joined.
