Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Nosferatu (the band)
One of my all-time favorite gothic rock bands, though I've only recently discovered them. Their debut "Rise" is simply amazing. It's the prototypical goth sound done right. At first, I thought they sounded quite cookie-cutter, but I quickly warmed up to them. They're also one of the few bands I've found that resemble Play Dead at times. Any thoughts, favorites, etc?

They're pretty cool. I have their The Prophecy CD. They're a little more hard rock than most of my other bands, but I like them. Try to look for their song Farewell My Little Earth. That's my favorite one.

I have their greatest hits- I love it, but have been unable to find anything else by them.
Definitely able to stand up to some of the staple bands, in my opinion.

Wait. Torturous. That's their best song.

I have Rise, Savage Kiss, The Prophecy, The Haunting, and some live cd.
All good stuff. I saw them on the Rise tour back in 94/5 and they were spot on. They had Inkubus Sukkubus supporting them who put on a good show, even though the guitarist was miming his guitar at one point LOL.
I used to be a member of their fanclub as well, and used to get the Gothic Grimoire fanzine that they used to put out quarterly.
The only problem I had with the band is the fact, they used to review other bands in there and pretty much slag them off, other than that though, they were pretty cool.

Don't push your luck, squire. I've got their patch on my jacket, and that's a good enough sign right there.

Their excellent and I only discovered them myself recently because I was looking for other excellent guitar driven gothic bands like Fields of The Nephilim & Sisters of Mercy. My favourite songs are:
Invocation, Crystal Ring, Alone, The Haunting, The Tempest, Lucy Is Red, Her Heaven, Inside The Devil, Alone, Torturous, Dark Angel, Darkness Brings, The Gauntlet, Rise, Witching Hour, Close and quite a few others as well.
