That a slow and gradual expansion of territory allows you to build an empire without attracting unwanted attention till its too late for anyone to do anything and you've effectively won....
...when playing War On Terror, anyway.

Damn it Delkaetre, now I'm going to become obsessed! Can someone tell me of a good strategy game that involves maps? Something of the sort of Total War rather than Empire Earth.

Get War On Terror. It's made by an indie company, so the money's not going to MultiGlobalMegaCorp or Mattel or whoever. It's really fun, as long as your mates are coherent enough to play it (note- if they are half asleep or mostly stoned, it's not for them).
If you want a strategy game, try 1602- isometric island colonising game. Might be fun for you.

Goddamn, do you have a job too? If so...good luck man.

That some of my Com classes are only 2 credits so I'm stuck with 6 classes this semester. COOL!

That my issues with order, disorder, and entropy, might fit better into a forum category of metaphysics and epistomology than in science. And that epistomology is more to challenge an entire school of thought/way of thinking, which might actually be accurate in this case.
