Black Leather Rose (Valentines day gifts)
So I was searching Ebay For something Gothic for Valentines day and I came across this little beauty.
Hand made leather roses.
They also come with barbed wire and a display case!

Now that I have your attention
What would be the perfect "Gothic" Valentines day gift you would give?
I'm interested in hearing your ideas.

Deff not those roses.
My plan:
Take her to the theater to see a play, have an awesome dinner, and then a horse drawn carriage ride through the city.

Jake thinks that Valentines Day is commercialized crap and he refuses to buy anything for it but I want to do something for it so we are going to spend the evening at my apartment (my roommate will be away), I'm planning on fixing a nice dinner (I'm thinking braised lamb seasoned with rosemary and mint paired with whipped potatoes and an herb salad plus chocolate mousse for dessert), and maybe watching a few movies

Oh wow. That's really beautiful. If I could give a gift (or get a gift) that would be it. My Mom will be away on Valentines day, so she already gave me her gift. It's a little tombstone that's black with a bleeding heart on it that says, "I love you like a Vampire loves blood." I love it completely.

Well...that's different.
For one, your mum gave it to you.
My auntie bought her kids them solid silver Rolo chocolates each. At the time I thought it was weird for the parent to get their kids gifts for that day but meh each to their own (as my mate says).
Still I think your gift is quite sweet in its own little way ^_^
You know what I asked my bf for?
For him to tidy his damn room!
no, really.
I also agree on the whole over rated and commercialization of this bloody day.
I use to work at a florist. They actually priced some stock 50% more then its normal price! some times 100% more.
But people actually still came in and bought the flowers knowing they were more expensive.
Paying shit loads of money for something that's gonna die in a week all in the name of "love".
Madness!
Bah!
I bet that if I got last years card I sent my bf and put it in a new envelope and gave it to him this year he wouldn't even notice. XD

I know it was different, but I thought it was sweet in it's own little way too. ^.^ I did get chocolate too though. Your boyfriend's room must be really messy. My Dad's apartment is probably messier.

I have no girlfriend, so never really thought of something to give on such a day. Though, if I did, I figured I'd buy her a bouquet of black roses, take her out for a bite, then a movie.

Why? Do black roses have a secret meaning? Hm, or are they beyond cliche?

Well yeah, but you're not particularly aware of it except on V-day. Which is why I also like to call it "Single Awareness Day."

Nah, you're campy like Cinema Strange or the Monster Mash. That's pretty awesome.

I hate Valentines day just as much as the next.
I sent my best mate a picture of a white teddy with a knife stabbed in its torso with red heart confetti pouring out of its wound with a note saying "Happy unimaginative, consumerist-oriented and entirely arbitrary, manipulative and shallow interpretation of romance day"
He sent me back a a note saying
"I despise Valentines Day and so do you, so I thought it'd be oh so hilariously ironic for us to celebrate it"
And then there was a button to press that made the sound of a kiss.
^_^
Teehee.
