Green Day is shit, pure and simple. They took something good, watered it down really far, re-molded it and shipped it to the mainstream and the mindless masses. You couldn't force me to listen to Green Day for 10 million dollars.

I don't tend to lust after musicians over much. I will tend to occasionally look at pretty things and go 'oh, how pretty'. For example, Ashbury Heights are a good example of pretty things. And Legion from Guildford seem to be cool people, friendly and with nice hair. Umm... there are generally a few members of the current UK goth scene, the energetic new bands, whom I'd not turn down. They are young, pretty, energetic and talented.
But I'd not join a band just to bang the drummer.
