Apparently my singing voice sounds like an Opera Singer spear tackling a goth...
I'd say Argyle Goolsby for me, he's an all round idol of mine <3

Peter Murphy. Though I may already be in the ball field. http://myspace.com/addressunknown23 Check out "Crucify Me". Ooh, or to sound like Edgy 59 from Burning Witch! I could land a vocal gig in ANY metal band.

I'm the wrong gender for those whose voices I'd really like to emulate.
Let me pass as male, let me a beautiful boy who sings 'Beautiful Orchid' and 'Angel Boy' and 'Requiem' with heart-wrenching intent and tone...
But, since I rather doubt I'll manage that or manage to sound like Sol of the Eternal Fall (damn, to be able to sing 'Pain of Penitents' the way he does...), I'll go without singing. I'm happy enough to chant along to the stuff I know without gaining any talent at singing.

My singing voice kind of sounds like a hybrid of Peter Murphy, Nick Cave, and oddly enough Brian Wilson when I manage to hit falsetto parts, but I'd really like to sound like Dave Vanian

Oooh, I would love to sound like Vincent Price.
Or, failing that, Patrick Stewart.

But Vincent Price is my top dog.
You can hear the spine-tingling vocal talents of the big V...
Here!
http://www.radiocrazy.com/shows2/P/P...yeForAnEye.mp3

It's an old horror radio show he used to do called 'The Price of Fear'. Crackin' stuff.

I'd like to sound like Lucas Lanthier, just for the sheer novelty of it...

Well, I'd love to be able to sing like Robert Smith of The Cure. That way, I wouldn't have to pay for new windows everytime I sang along to a song.

Alex Møklebust of Zeromancer. But unfortunately I've been told I have a deep voice (even being confused for my father a lot of the time over the phone) so these are kind of, eh...

I guess I could try sounding like Jyrki 69 from the "69 Eyes"...

My voice is probably more suomi-metal -esque (Reflexion, HIM, Sentenced, Charon etc), but I want it to sound like Alex Band (The Calling), Jason Wade (Lifehouse), Rob Cavestany (Death Angel guitarist) or kinda Nickleback -ish >_<

Darn it =P

Ultimately, Josh Groban and do Symphonic Metal.

Besides that, and Nick Cave or even Adam Duritz from Counting Crows.

I have no real control over my voice. I'm not sure if I'm tone deaf or not. I can rap okay, however.

I would like to sound like Asagi of D. I'm female (and have been all my life, roffles) and I simply cannot get my voice to go as high as his.

Seriously, listen to 'Yamiyori Akai Dokoku Akapera to Bara Yori Akai Jonetsu no Aria." His falsetto is orgasmic. Then say that song title five times fast.

HEY HEY! GUESS WHAT???

Cannibal Corpse sucks a fat one. I love metal and even I think they're crap. It sounds like unintelligible BURPING. I can sing like that, I just need a few sodas and I'm good to go!

I don't necessarily want to sound like anyone, I just want to be able to hit high notes correctly. Vocal lessons would probably do a world of good, but I can't even sing in front of my girl...

I agree Wormboy. I'm thinking of finding a female singer for my punk band. I mean many punk bands had lead singers, The Slits, X-Ray Spex,
Vice Squad, Freezebaby, L7, Bikini Kill, Bratmobile.

Hmm I'm thinking Armadillo!mutageN was being witty when he said he wanted to sound like George``CORPSEGRINDER``Fisher of Cannibal Corpse. Heh I like their song "Zero the Hero".

I'd like to sing like Ann Wilson from Heart. If I ever had the time and financial resources I would so totally get voice lessons until I could sing without making people wince. I've always hated both my singing voice and my speaking voice. I've really wished I spoke like Kes from Star Trek Voyager. As of late, though, I've come to appreciate just sounding like me. I yam who I yam.

I'm rather fond of the Chris Barnes era C.C. stuff, but everything they've done with Corpsegrinder reeks of the purest feculence. Death metal is one of those things that you either love or hate, and I love it. The more gutteral the vocals, the better.

As far as extreme metal goes, I think John Gallagher from Dying Fetus is what every vocalist should strive for. If I could growl like Gallagher and sing like Peter Steele from Type O Negative, I'd be happy.
