Remember after 9/11 the bush administration kept looking like idiots because they couldn't find bin laden? So they rounded up over 700 people they claimed were dealing kiddie pr0n online.

They raided their homes without warrants, and damaged the names of hundreds of Americans.

Turns out - they had no evidence in most cases and were using the warrants to get into homes of people they were investigating for other crimes.

The FBI with help from the bush administration used the publics hate of child molestors and paedophiles to invade the privacy and trample civil rights for hundreds of Americans, many of which had their charges dropped later.

The ones that didn't have the charges dropped were booked on charges unrelated to the original charge.

Talk about doing an end-run around the Constitution and the law - the FBI used the opportunity to go after all other sorts of criminals that they had little to no evidence on - many turned out to be innocent of everything they were suspected of.

They slapped the names of everyone whose home they wanted to search into this 'operation' and then house by house went in and violated the rights of hundreds of Americans.

Now thats something we can discuss.

I think I have a very rational approach to it.

I think I said before, about a man who never commited the act of peadophilia but had the feelings which he had to supress. He had found other ways of getting sexual pleasure but still lived in fear of himself everyday. He was saying "I need help", he was practically begging for help because he hated who he was and all people could do was call him sick and wrong, despite the fact he had never commited a crime. He didn't even look at child porn.
The people he was reaching out to should have said, we need to get this guy help...I did not agree atall with his treatment.

I'm not gunna bash a guy who never commited a crime and knew he had a problem let alone bash hundreds of americans who were accused who never had a problem in the first place.

It's just that Sternn seems to turn everything into something against america, anything and everything. I'm not even american and there is something about it that grates me.

I would never ever touch a kid, but 3 years ago, cops found some crap on my computer. I was stupid and I got into looking at some bad things. I was 18 at the time when I started looking at it and to make a long story short, they caught me before I could do any damage and put me in jail. In there I met actual padophiles. Hardcore fuckers who would NEVER get better. And I was scared and sickened when they told me what they had done. I was stupid along time ago, I was caught, and I paid the price.

My friends were shocked, I lost some of them. But most of them stayed by my side and forgave me. I am grateful that my friends and family know that I am not sick. Even though I went to jail for a short time I still feel that I should do something more, to contribute to society, to maybe do good and perhaps join the fight against pados and child abuse.

That shit is almost behind me. It’s in my past. Whenever I meet someone who eventually becomes a friend, I brief them on what happened. They always stick with me. Because they look into my eyes and see that I have a good heart.

I went to a friend I had known for many months, and with my stomach in my throat, I told him in detail what happened. He smiled, and said he had a secret too. I asked what? He said he already knew. He knew for some time. He thanked me for being honest and told me that by not lying about what I did and not waiting for him to bring the topic up, that it proves I am good of character.

I can't keep silent any longer. I won't try. My guilty knowledge and my mistakes are eating away at my heart and soul. I am a good person but I made some horrible mistakes in the past that I can’t change. Mistakes I might never live down. My reputation is probably ruined. Lots of people, friends try to convince me that I am a good and decent person. Remember, I have personally met truly evil, sick and twisted men in jail so don't be so quick to put me down by saying I am bad. I know what bad is. I sat down with bad people and ate breakfast with them in there. I know what bad is. I am not it.

I had to tell my peers here about my actions or I fear that further secrecy and bottling up of my past will result in my own destruction.

My fellow comrades here at Gnet will probably hate me; I have no right to blame you for that. I was foolish years ago as a teen. If you all petition to get my kicked off of Gnet somehow, I will leave with the knowledge that I didn't lie. Centuries will pass. As the father of two young children, that's something I am not willing to take any bets on. I just got caught with pictures of 15-16 year old girls with big knockers when I was a teenager. The court, the press, and people blew what I did right out of preportion.
