Getting inked.

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo.

I suppose I've taken the death of my friend really hard. Forgive me for not shutting up about it, but I was thinking about getting some ink in remembrance of him.

I was thinking of getting a raven perched in front of an ankh with the words "Never More" underneath it. He loved Poe so much and the ankh and raven were his token symbols that he held dear.

I'm thinking a one inch or two inch sized tatt on my left inside wrist.

What say you guys?

I think that would be amazing.

Don't worry about talking about him too much, it is a testament to your love an affection for him that he is so present in your mind and I really do aplaud your ability to talk openly about him. At least in my experience talking about a loss helps process the connected emotions and the more open you are about it and the more frequently you think about the person you miss, the sooner that you become at peace with their death and the sooner that you think of the happy memories that you have of them, instead of thinking about how much you miss them. If you ever want/need someone to talk to just send me a PM, I would be more than happy to help *hug*

That sounds beautiful. Get it drawn up by the best artist you can grab. I assume it will be greysacle/shaded? The inner wrist isn't too bad painwise either.

It sounds a fitting tribute to your late friend, especially since he loved these things so much, and as Korinna say's, memorial tattoos never lose their meaning and message.

Go for it.

Personally, I'm really not into memorial tattoos, but if you like it, I say go for it.

I have a black ankh on the back of my neck. If you want a tat, get one. It is your body.

Maybe think about going a little bit bigger. You will be able to get more detail. And don't let people give you crap for memorial tats. Most of mine are. And as someone said, they never lose their meaning. I have words to a song that we played at a couple kayaker buddy's funerals. It is by Bubba Sparx, and quite possibly the one I get the most weird looks for, but it was for them, so it justifies it in my mind. Do it, you won't regret it if you truly cared about them.

I could maybe make you a picture. You don't have to use it but it could be an example.
I made this picture quite a while ago

I think you should get it done bigger, it'll be more detailed that way. It's a beautiful idea and I think it'd be a shame to have it so small.

Oh, ok. :P I was shocked there. Personally, I can't really draw the tribal stuff, or at least not without it taking a cray amount of time (and likely Photoshop so that I can mirror both sides).

Although on that note, I really don't trust a tattoo shop nowadays that doesn't have a computer and scanner for digital editing.

Yea I have trouble with tribal drawing it by hand. I once got bored and picked up a pen next to me and started drawing some tribal design on my bf arm while he was watching tv. hehe. It turned out really big because some parts looked silly. But when drawing the tribal style you can just keep adding more and more swirly lines and get carried away with it.

Ha!

I did that to my brother, he really wanted a tribal tattoo and wanted to know what it looked like.

I'm quite good at tribal, I find it boring though....unless i'm drawing on my brother. Infact!
One of my mates got a tribal Treble Clef and Bass Clef that I designed on his wrist.
