Voltaire

I didn't see any threads solely about this awesome singer, so I thought I'd do him the honors and make him a thread.

So, what're your thoughts on his music? Love them, hate them? In-between? I'm really into his swing-type songs, like Vampire Club or Brains. I also enjoyed his cover for Jack Off Jill's Love Song.

I also find him pretty damn funny, particularly his song The Sexy Data Tango.

Anyway, I don't feel like making a page-long post. Discuss!

I find his music boring, but his other products are delightful.

I like his music. I find his humor funny. I agree with homo-adonis about Ooky Spooky being a great album. "Zombie Prostitute" was a favorite of mine off of that. Some other songs I enjoyed of his was "When You're Evil", "Hello Cruel World", "The Vampire Club", and "The Chosen".

I really enjoy him. It's a nice offshoot from boxed in goth rock you know? His songs don't all run together in the mind. Btw, before the forum nazis attack you, the cover of Lovesong is of The Cure, not Jack of Jill, although theirs is a good cover too.

You'll be happy to know he has an account here and has been known to lurk about various threads.

Oh, shit, I forgot about The Cure having sung it first. Thanks for reminding me, Count Sixtrings. I can't believe I forgot.

Within temptation yes, lost prophets no. If you would please post an introduction thread as well as posting any questions about music inside threads that are not specificly about other topics.

I love Voltaire's music, and his comic books are pretty awesome also. What other artist could actually profit off singing about Star Treck?

I've seen him live twice, and I currently own all of his albums except "Banned on Vulcan".

He's a rather agreeable chap in my opinion.

I was trying to get him to come and play a special celebrity show at Shadowbox, WHere our band would cover his songs with him singing and then we'd work him into our sketch comedy, but I never heard back.

I suppose he thought I was spamming/not legit, which I can't particularly blame him for.

Voltaire is a amazing artist and has been very under rated in past year's i am glad to see him finally getting some well deserved exposure.

There's a few songs of his that I love, and others fail to interest me. It's just that the acoustic style usually bores me for some reason.

He's funny as hell though. I saw one of his shows on Youtube and loved it.

I think he's fantastic, just the type of person to listen to who never takes himself too seriously.

Damn, I bet he's somewhat of a funky guy to hang with.
