I think Jillian has given up on the original topic for this thread. But on the plus side it has become melodramatic enough to be entertaining!

I've read War and Peace, that book is even shittier than Twilight. It's not just horridly boring garbage, but it's roughly two pounds of horridly boring garbage. At least Twilight is over sooner.

It makes for a good bookend for the rest of your books though.
Gawd that book was boring. Grapes of Wrath was far worse though. An entire chapter about a fucking turtle trying to cross the road. What the fuck man? Is the turtle a metaphor? What for? And why is it such a boring metaphor?

You forgot those who read the series to achieve that "not-so-fresh-oh-so-dark" feeling.

I think almost everyone has given up on the original topic to watch these two go at it.

Dude, watching an actual turtle cross a road is more interesting than Grapes of Crap.

Long, drawn out, paind and ultimately futile in the long run labor?
Hell, teh book was a metaphor unto itself. Sad, since I love the most of Steinbeck...

Oh lord, that was awesome. Someone should film that into a parody and post it on Youtube.
By the way, Humane, you mentioned that now you're curious about what Twilight is, so I recommend you to read Lolly's link. It's no bullshit, that really is the story.
Now that I remember the plot, or lack of it, I simply can't see how anyone could deny my original post. Hell, my original post isn't enough to describe how much bullshit Twilight really is.
I do, however, see why several people in here will like the story. Ones I can think of right now are Bella, CCT, DarkPrayer, and L'Oiseau Noir. Yet I can't still understand why GC likes it.

Apparently, the abusive vampire dude and the Mary Sue have a kid together who's half vamp and half human with a power of creating a love shield.
Really, I just wanted to post this without hiding it under a different color.

I agree with your original post. The only reason I read the it was my friend told me that is was good......okay....
But sadly I don't think I can right better. Even though my mother says I am good with words, but she is my mother she has to say that even if it is crap that should be burned.

That's so weird.
I mean, I've seen people doing that kind of thing just being silly...but that kid seems really serious.
The kind of kid who thinks he really IS battling bad guys. That's weird.

Amen to the fucking of Twilight, and anything else Meyer chooses to put out.
It's like Interview with a Vampire Lite, with half the sodium and none of the intelligence.
[Unfortunately, I had to suffer through it because a friend I cared about really really liked it, and wanted me to read it. :/ ]

come on guys:- Is Twilight really that bad? yeah it's a silly romance but there's a lot silly romance's out there, it could have been worse like as cheesy as Titanic or something. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the vampires weren't night walking, cape wearing maniac's who sleep in coffins and have big fangs!

Have you read the dialogue in this book?
Speaking as one who loathes Titanic, that movie could be 70 times as cheesy and still not be nearly as cheesy as Twilight.

In all fairness, Titanic did have some great scenes. Like when that one guy fell off the back of the ship when it was sinking and did flips through the air as a result of smacking his head against a propeller. Pure comedy gold, right there.
