Welcome, you're wise enough to post an introduction and you like The Cure. I think you may fit in well here.

Thanks for the warm welcome! To answer your question, I have a master's in art therapy/ counseling. And yes, the Cure is one of my all time favorites. I recently began listening to them again after a long break from "traditional" goth music. I like electronic music also, and have listened to that a lot in the past few years.

Storm Constantine. Cool, not a lot of people know her.

I LOVE Storm Constantine. My favorite book of hers so far is "Sign for the Sacred." I have read the more popular Wreaththu mythos and although it is fascinating, she has much more interesting work in my opinion. Are you also a fan of hers, Godslayer Jillian?

Also, maybe somebody can help me with this- I'm trying to upload an avatar image and 29.3k is ridiculously small. How do you get an image that small? I have a little JPEG and I can't even get it smaller than 40 k, and it's almost invisible at that point, and down to 50ppi. Should I only use GIF files? Or is there some trick to it?

That is the most poor criteria I have ever heard to fitting in someplace.

You've never been to highschool then.

Also, it's fine criteria. The new member followed board customs by posting an introduction, and shows interest in at least one of the bands that are prominent in the subculture to which this board is dedicated.

Your point with high school being?

You're absolutely right, she did post the questions, answer them, and identify a band that is well liked here. If those are all the criteria it takes to "may[be] fit in well," they are lax.

I'm not saying or implying she won't fit in or be a counter productive member. I'm simply stating those are very relaxed ideas on how to fit into a group of people.

That is because we are opened minded.

I also like other types of music too. But I'm glad to know that other people here appreciate the Cure, even though they are probably considered old-school by now!

There's not much open-mindedness about liking someone for one band and one protocol.
It's much more open-minded to accept only federalists regardless of procedure.

But the point of the high school reference is:
We teens are shallow!

Dying is emo.

And I use the lower case "e" to denote the high school wrist slitters as opposed to the original Emo music aficionados.

Compared to anyone, we Gothicdotnettians are not very open-minded when it comes to new folk.

Some of us hate people who like MCR, some of us hate people with low IQs, and me, I pretty much hate all redheads, people missing a digit, or people with working lungs.
