Wendy's ad

I just saw an ad by Wendy's
A guy was explaining a friend how objects are more than their actual value.
He put forth an example:
He said "can I have a buck?"
The friend gave him one
Then he said "can I have your double-stack burguer?"
The friend said no way.

And ta-da.
I really wonder what kind of shit is in a burger that could make it profitable to sell it at 99 cents, but that was still a nice ad.

That is why I don't eat fast food

The patties are pretty small and thin, and you get half a strip of bacon (I used to work at a Wendy's *shudder*) and beef fat is added in the mix of hamburger meat, no its not even purely meat. There's something about the way its made that makes hamburger meat uber cheap, but I can't remember what it was.

It's not the best quality meat, but even decent food is profitable to sell cheap, because the retailers get it for nearly nothing.

It's just usually more expensive because people will pay for it.

Perhaps Wendy's sells it at a loss, and then makes it up with Pop/Fries?

The best burgers I've had were made out of ground chuck.

But as fast food goes I'd rather have something from Wendy's as Mickey D's hands down.

(Ground Chuck can also make a damn good batch of Hotdog Chili)

Wendy's > McD's any day of the week!

Not to mention that McD's -never- gets my burger order right, while Wendy's has -never- let me down. [I only want lettuce, tomato, and onion on my burger, and maybe some A-1 sauce. I despise mayo, mustard, ketchup, and any kind of 'secret sauce'. -shudder-]

I really don't like Wendy's.

I hate burgers, and their grilled chicken sandwich is crap.

In the face of all that McDonalds does, your main criticism is that they don't make your burger directly to your specification?

I'm pretty sure it was Tam who didn't think tacit complicity in numerous deaths is a good enough reason to boycott Coca Cola, so that doesn't surprise me.

Unless she never said any such thing (I can't be bothered to threadhunt) and I'm just confused. It's (theoretically) possible that I might be wrong.

Actually, I apologized and retracted all of that at the end of that thread. [I was in a bad mood that day, and just felt like being an ass.

If a company is doing something wrong and inhuman then yes, they -should- be boycotted.

As for McD, that's not the only reason I don't like it, but it's one of many. :P That being said, I like their fries and sodas, and even their chicken nuggets....but I think Wendy's is just better all around.

However, if I have my choice, I'd rather just grill a burger myself and roast some potatoes. Now THAT's the best way to go!

I do eat at Wendy's. I'm not sure what my feelings on that are.
