It may not be clever, but my point still stands; just because someone does one thing, it doesn't mean that they are like others who do the same thing for a different reason. It wasn't a very clear argument though, so I get why you didn't understand.

Actually your statement was far from parallel with his. He was pointing out how children will go into circle jerk mode when one of their own is threatened in an attempt to lift one another's spirits.
Your statement was, while valid, completely on another topic having something to do with how a person will try to liken themselves to another through an association of actions. That has nothing to do with what he was pointing out.
And in a way, you were agreeing with him. The logic of group solidarity through association of actions is an illusion, placing Shade and Saya in the wrong.
You're the best defender on Helpmann's team.

No it wasn't. Because even if Helpmann weren't using logic, which he was, it still wouldn't be ironic in the slightest. I suppose it'd be funny to somebody who is ignorant to the definitions of logic and irony but then again that kind of person could probably laugh at anything they want to.
