Fuck sixth grade; that art puts to shame some of the pieces I saw drawn by people in their final year of secondary school art classes. Not a word of a lie. I like the angle a lot; when I was in sixth grade, I was still forced into the two dimensional plane, so all of my dragons would tend to have only two, perhaps three legs, and never turn their heads. Although, I had this one crazy ass piece... still, it stands as a meaningful compliment; don't compare your art to that of others and be sure that you keep at it. I'm expecting that one year from now you have a piece that puts ALL of the present company to shame. Now get to work on that

It's unfortunate that I lost my digital camera; so far, I'm actually proud of this one.

I also post my are on Deviant art
I Don't do crazy angsty and/or Funky macabre art.. but I do draw comic stuff and Anthro art....

I did this in art class. It looks much better in person as the flash obscures it; it is too dark without the flash. The painting took me forever!

just so you guys know, I'm sure that some of you do, if you are into anthropomophic art (i.e. animal-people stuff) you can find some really, really good stuff on Furtopia.org and also the Furnation website. Some of it has some really dark overtones, and several are about were-creatures of one variety or another. Just another subculture with a few things in common

I have a couple friends that are furs, so that was how I got introduced to it. Some of it is sickeningly cutsie, but I have found some very dark, very intriguing work as well. Some furs have gothic tendencies, but not many, and the few sites I've been able to find that kind of combine them have a lot of really ummm........well, stuff I don't care to spend time studying.
On another note, seeing as there is not an art section yet, does anyone here know anything about blacksmithing or other artistic metalworking? I am starting to work on a few knife blades (made from metal files, the steel holds a good edge) and am into all types of primitive weaponry, as well as gunsmithing. I am looking for plans to build a propane forge, I just don't want to be blown to bits because I don't know what the hell I'm doing. Any knowledge would be appreciated.

I'm too much of a self conscious pussy to post anything from my painting class. I'm a very new oil painter.

This is one of my very first paintings ever. Done quite a while ago and accidentally backed up. And therefore, unlike my other ones, it survived a recent hard drive crash of mine.
I guess it's gothic enough, huh?
Titled At least the pain is real.

Well done. I quite like it; I've never been able to grapple with paint, but this yellow sky I see outside is just screaming to be painted. Perhaps with watercolours down the road.

Thank you. But actually I've barely felt the smell of paint myself. This, and all my other paintings, were done digitally with my oh-so-sexy Wacom Intuos.
And that picture of your's is neat because it reminds me of the bunny comic. DeviantART, by the way, doesn't allow direct linking of images so your picture actually doesn't show up. You probably see it because your browser has it cached, but others don't. I just saw the link when I clicked the quote button on your post.
P.S.
Another Icelander, huh? Yay.
