My intro

Lets get straight to the goods...
1. What do you do?
Mainly, I am a student. I will be starting full time classes again in September at UBC. I work at an Emergency Shelter in Downtown Vancouver. When it comes to hobbies, I'm interested in tattoos, piercings, many genres of music, shopping (mainly for shoes) and finding new places to eat at.
2. Where are you from?
Vancouver, B.C. Lived here all my life.
3. Who is your favourite author?
Socrates, Joseph Boyden
4. What are your favourite films?
Boondock Saints, anything from Quentin Tarantino, Italian mob movies and psychological thrillers.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Walking down the asile, something epic I want to make an entrance. At the reception, songs that will keep people dancing.
6.At your funeral?
Vivaldi
7. How do you want to die?
Painless and many years from now when I'm done causing trouble.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
Black outside, royal blue silk interior... got to go out looking good.
9. What's your favourite outfit?
High heels are a must (usually patent leather), my favourite outfits always change.
10.What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Pretending to be different people and the simplicity of it.
11. What's your favourite band?
Some are: NIN, Eric Clapton, Metalica.
12. What kind of education do you have?
I've done two years of college, completed an Associate of Arts Degree. Going to UBC for their Bachelors of Social Work program, so hopefully in two years I will have a BSW. I'm not sure what area in social work, probably something in the area of mental health and addiction.
13.Why did you join?
Looking to talk with open and like minded people.
14.What is your gender?
If the obession with shoes didn't give it away, I am a female.
So, there's my intro. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Brianna

Yes, he's not exactly an author, but it was his works I was referring to that I like reading.

Great question for her.

And I'll add "What works do you speak of?

I could've sworn all he did was talk... And if you're going to say his dialogues, you might as well be shot in the brain 'cause you obviously don't need it.

Lol, I didn't even think about that when I read the intro. Pretty ditzy move on the OP's part.

Socrates didn't just not write, he thought that writing was counterproductive and only served to constrain your thoughts where as he preached the benefits of unrestrained, free-flowing thought.

Well, I think it is ok to like an author (although yes, one would expect more knowledge of the author if they were the favorite) if you do not know them very well, as it is a journey, I mean, after all when does one know enough? I am still learning about Einstein after all these years, and Edgar Allan Poe and countless others that I have read.

As for me, I have found applying Socrates questioning of one's own beliefs to be liberating and enlightening.

Vivaldi and Vancouver, nice music and a nice place to listen to it in. I have been to Vancouver and found the people friendly, the food delicious, the climate agreeable and the scenery memorable. I will not forget the glorious week I spent there years ago (in the early '90s).

Welcome b-thorne.

I, on the other hand, just consider him a shitty person to be admired in this era. Se won't please one of us.

I found the worst part:

Why didn't you just say "If the willingness to exist solely in my suitor's kitchen didn't give it away..."?

Just so you know you can't be a clinical social worker with just a four year degree so if you actually want to work with people who have mental health problems and addiction at more than a very basic level then you are going to need to go to grad school. Not trying to shatter you dreams or anything, I just thought I would let you know what to be repaired for as it was my first major (but I didn't like the way the department was run so I moved over to psych, my end goal of being a therapist didn't change)

I'm aware that you need more than 4 years for clinical social work. Not sure where I want to be in the field. If I need more schooling then I'll take it. I doubt a Bachelors will be my end point. What about how the department was run did you not like?
