Physically draining: who cares.
Emotionally draining: fuck off.
Seriously, your parents cleaned your shit for about 10-20 years, you can pick up the house.
Also, this is probably one of those cases where the person bitching is 18+ and living rent free.

I'm not sure if you misunderstand the phrase you just used or the word "dramatic," but either way, I'll just let you do your thing.

The worst I ever get from the flu is the typical cold symptoms and a mild headache and dizziness, of which the latter only lasts for a day.

I think I slept on my neck funny last night, because now the left side of my neck and the top of my left arm are really sore. x_x;;;
I may have to start sleeping in the recliner permanently, at least until I'm all healed up and can sleep on my stomach again. I hate sleeping alone though.

Dude, that is nothing compared to what you folks in the gulf are going through. How are you holding out? What is the latest tropical storm threat situation?

Humane, thanks for the concern.
Well, Houston is on the far eastern edge of the projection cone, and most tracks have it going to the southernmost coast of Texas or into Mexico. Which would normally be good news, as there's no more than a 5-10% chance it will come this way based on that. But the local weatherman I follow, who is very good on these things, says it could still change. And I've seen hurricanes veer off completely off from the projection cones.
From a personal point of view, I'm far enough inland and at a significant elevation that even if a strong hurricane comes in it would probably be no more than a 40-80 mph storm by the time it got to my house ... still something that bears preparing for but is eminently survivable. When hurricane Ike came through two years ago, I taped up my windows, we got a storm with 60 MPH winds at my place, and just found some uprooted trees and a tumbled swingset in my neighborhood. Of course, some areas were out of power for days, which meant stores couldn't open, traffic lights were out, some roads were obstructed, etc..
The bad thing about this is that to wish myself the best chance of not having a problem locally means hoping it tracks west to Mexico. It sucks to be in the mindset of hoping somebody else gets screwed.
I'm waiting for the announcement from Admiral Thad Allen indicating if they're going to evacuate the oil spill containment and cleanup. I know they have to protect lives and this very, very expensive equipment, but it looks very unlikely this thing is going anywhere near the oil spill (thank goodness) and I think they're still going to evacuate ... which will cause a delay drilling those relief wells that are supposed to stop this thing and cause more disruption in the efforts to protect the Gulf coastline.

ARGH! I just fucking TORE OFF PART OF MY BIG TOENAIL!
Damn it I hate that when it happens! I was turning around, bumped into my grandson's foot, and now my toenail is a bloody shard. My grandson for some odd reason only said a brief "ow" and then continued playing and running around. His mother, Nana and I looked at his foot and there is not even a redness. Must be his Guardian Angel. Me, I am hoping I will be able to put on a sock and shoe tomorrow when I go in the office.
Anyway, I originally came looking here to answer that I am relieved to hear Ben may be ok with the storm.

Man, Humane, it pains me just to read about you doing that to your toe. Try to stay off of it as much as possible. (I know, easier said than done, eh?)
I made the mistake of watching the Weather Channel and now I'm concerned that even though Tropical Storm/potential Hurricane Alex will most likely head inland far southwest of here, we could get a great deal of rain ... possibly for days ... possibly the kind of rain that overwhelms the sewers and bayous around here and causes flooding. Damn!
Also, just the act of this thing traveling across the Gulf where it is may send 8 to 12 foot waves or higher traveling east through the Gulf oil spill area. And it may also temporarily redirect the Gulf stream ... which could push oil back towards Texas.
What did I turn on the Weather Channel for?

I shot myself in the foot with a power-stapler and ruined a perfectly good pair of shoos. Then I dropped a 13 inch steel rim on the same foot. Today just is not my day....

ape descendant, that sucks. And having a blueberry bagel ruined by the taste of blood in your mouth ... tragedy!
Still Jack, be good to your feet. You'll need them to be good to you the rest of your life. It reminds me of that line from "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" - Be kind to your knees; you'll miss them when they're gone. I can vouch for that one.
Also, scientific studies have determined that insufficient sleep leads to increased clumsiness and a tendency to be increasingly accident-prone. I have experienced this myself. It's my opinion that if you find yourself having more trip-ups and judgment lapses leading to property damage, minor injuries or even just messes you have to clean up, it's your body's way of telling you that you are not getting enough quality sleep.
Jack, are you getting enough rest?
